Lot of good information here, I'm still digesting. I would suggest using a different camera angle for the left hand. Very difficult to see exactly which strings you are fingering, especially during the fast solo parts . I have to keep stopping the vid to have at look at the tabs. Some kind of split screen view would be great.
Mixolydian mode my man. Blues is mostly dominant chords which is the fifth of a scale, and is neither major IR minor (though if not played as a dominant you'd normally wanna play it as a major chord) . So you can play E mixoldian, A mixolydian, and even B mixolydian. Plus you can also just play your basic e minor pentatonic and blues scales. He's really just playing notes within chords though if it's easier to think of it that way.
I don’t see why you don’t say what notes you are hitting on the E7 Then A7 then B7…. just this one is too vague for students….and what’s with the distortion in teaching….you are not saying which notes and which string and then you compound this with a fuzzy sound.I have nearly given up on you
There has never been a video or lesson by Andy where I didn't learn something uniquely cool. He is the Sage of blues electric guitar.period.fullstop.
Nobody goes deeper than Andy. Love his technique.
This is the most useful lesson I have come across to demystify soloing over chord progressions. Thanks Andy.
Gold nuggets of guitar wisdom here
Terrific lesson Mr. Aledort!
I got here by way of a Dickie Betts video I recently saw. I had never heard of Mr. Aledort. I hear him now.
Andy love how you teach me how to play guitar
Just when I think I'm making progress my head esplodes. LOL Thanks for the lesson!

Is he mixing major and minor? I'm kind of confused
Ariel Gomez mixing major is one of the key parts of getting a bluesy sound. There are plenty of video's on TH-cam!
