    Travelled to Darwin in December 2018/January 2019 and stayed there for 2 weeks. Didn’t want to leave! beautiful city, nice suburbs and lovely climate (if you love the humidity like i do) I’m from Brisbane, and Darwin reminds me a little bit of Cairns, but is smaller and quieter than Cairns. would love go to back some time soon, Mitchell Street & Casuarina shopping centre are great too Xx

    I'm a Singaporean. Been coming to Darwin since 1989. Maybe 30 times. Other than having more highrise apartments nothing has changed. Businesses simply do not flourish. Many have folded. Equal number do not survive one year. There's a simple reason for this. The population is simply too small. Just look at all the empty buildings and shops. Good examples will be the souvenir shops that have closed.
    Its pitiful. Australians should welcome more foreigners to NT. The small scale of economy is the main reason why eye wateringly expensive Darwin is. Unfortunately Aussies aren't going to change anytime soon. They probably like Darwin the way it is. It's sad.

    • @MrOx85

    • @mushy111
      @mushy111 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Most foreigners don't want to live in Darwin for those exact reasons. There are 7.5 million immigrants living in Australia, more than the entire population of Singapore. You can't force them to go to a country town in the middle of nowhere.

    • @keremdelialioglu2197
      @keremdelialioglu2197 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@mushy111 NZ and Canada have been incentivizing population growth in areas in a similar situation, I don't see why Australia couldn't go for similar policies. For instance, the immigration policy could be made easier for those choosing to move to the Northern Territory as opposed to piling up on Sydney.

    I live here and I can tell this is recent, as hardly anyone around. Normally, we would be in the start of the Tourist season - bub no tourists as the borders are still closed due to COVID-19.
    Not showing the best of Darwin CBD. Should include Cullen Bay, the Casino and the beach, the Trailer Boat Club and the view from the small hill above the Trailer Boat Club, East Point, Parap Markets etc.etc.etc. Then onto Palmerston and the new suburbs such as Zuccolli. Still, good effort.

      Thanks Brian for your comment, we can’t put all Darwin areas in one video, it is too long video 🙈 please check out the other walking tour videos as well, you will see the best part of Darwin CBD. Anyway thanks for your suggestion we will be filming the Casino and the Beach, Darwin Trailer Boat club and some more Darwin and Palmerston areas. 😊

      Tell me Brian, what is the most beautiful city un this list ?: Perth, Adélaïde, Alice Sprint, Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne.

    • @Fitzaism
      @Fitzaism 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@risitasfrance9020 Hi, it's subjective and depends on your preference for lifestyle, I guess. Brisbane is nice and is semi-tropical but it's biggest advantage is it's only an hour or so north or south to the Gold Coast (south of Brisbane) or the less commercial Sunshine Coast North of Brisbane).
      Alice Spring is just a small town in the middle of Australia. Population 25,000. Desert climate. I like it but it is not for big city folks. Canberra is the capital of the Federal Govt. Not for me and have not been there for decades. Sydney and Melbourne are big cities and acquired tastes too. Personally, I prefer Melbourne but would never live there, as it is a temperate climate and the traffic is horrendous if you have to get to work.
      Perth and Adelaide are nice in that they are not tropical but more mediterrean climate with nice beaches less than one hour from the CBD. Both over a million population - not too small or too big. My favourites you did not mention - Darwin is a true tropical climate. Same climate as say, Manila but only a small population. Cairns is a true tropical paradise and surrounded by the best beaches in the tropics. A bit cooler than Darwin in winter, same in the summer heat and same size. All my personal opinion.

    • @risitasfrance9020
      @risitasfrance9020 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @MineTeaTime
      @MineTeaTime  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Darwin is really unique, can’t compare with other states or territories in Australia. It’s a good place to live with warm weather whole year (if you don’t like winter). For us, the traffic is fantastic. We can go to every corner of Darwin within 30 minutes or less than that.
      For beaches, obviously Gold Coast will be the winner but we do have beautiful beaches here too in Darwin. 😊
