We need more movies and shows where the villain is the main focus, and/or wins in the end, with no redemption arc for the heroes in the next season/movie. I don't want rainbow and birds singing endings, I want badass villain wins that are here to stay! Of course, I am not opposed to seeing some new heroes ATTEMPTING to beat the villain, but getting their asses handed to them on a silver platter.

Perfect, I found this today, and my D&D campaign is zooming towards the end at the speed of windwalk. Many popular series base their hero’s goals around the premise of freedom as the highest ideal. With no afterthought as to the society they will create or if they will last. Leaving the epilogue to end with (because hero’s it works) Where as the villains in games, their ambitions, goals, and methods are thought out. As they are a key part of any games plot as the driving force for the protagonist to face or rebel against. I think a decent example of this in gaming is the Fire Emblem series. As you play the games, some of the very nations the hero’s of each game liberate and rule over, will then generations later deal with the same problems or invade other kingdoms just like they had fought against. A great irony. From a realistic philosophy standpoint I believe it also holds true. As historically every nation that is every liberated through revolution immediately creates a foundation for law and order. As they come to learn, freedom is great. But the cost of freedom is moderation, to temper their ideals by first maintaining order and stability.

Gaming wise: absolutely.
Many popular series base their hero’s goals around the premise of freedom as the highest ideal. With no afterthought as to the society they will create or if they will last. Leaving the epilogue to end with (because hero’s it works)
Where as the villains in games, their ambitions, goals, and methods are thought out. As they are a key part of any games plot as the driving force for the protagonist to face or rebel against.
I think a decent example of this in gaming is the Fire Emblem series. As you play the games, some of the very nations the hero’s of each game liberate and rule over, will then generations later deal with the same problems or invade other kingdoms just like they had fought against. A great irony.
From a realistic philosophy standpoint I believe it also holds true. As historically every nation that is every liberated through revolution immediately creates a foundation for law and order. As they come to learn, freedom is great. But the cost of freedom is moderation, to temper their ideals by first maintaining order and stability.

First time the commercial about St. Judes came up I wasn't watching the screen and it sounded like a dark monolouge intbetween the music until I realized what was happening. It was a perfect fit for the mood.
All these people in comments saying "Oh no don't listen to dark music", it's not like we have more than one inverted pentagram at our house or something, also we got no other music to listen as all the pop music is garbage, with just a guy talking about his new shoes that he payed 300 bucks for and GF didn't like it.
