    My CSI Humboldt seed order arrived today. Couldn’t be happier. I love that man. Those free seeds are no joke. I’m as excited about some of them as what I ordered. Thank you, Caleb.

    Back in the late 70's and early 80's east of the Mississippi River, most seed came from the earliest flowering males by accident and/or intentioned.
    We bred for the quickest flowering and shortest plants.
    The choppers and planes were flying hard after 79' the same as Ca.
    Great podcasts on these subjects.
    Always a trip down Memory Lane. lol

      True. Sadly, we took quality stuff and tried to mold it to our needs and it quite often didnt work well for those genetic populations usually over time. We bred out the special qualities in order to have faster flowering/shorter flowering period/less loud cannabis at that time. Everyone wanted that 45 day unicorn back then and we bred out alot of qualities to fit our needs. Like breeding the skunkiness out of Skunk cuz no one wanted to get busted with smelly plants on your property. We bred the Haze qualities out of the Haze trying to hybridize it for indoor use etc. We fooked up.

    What about reversing males to see what they express as a female. Or reversing a nale and hitting it with it's self.... so like a reg seed s1..... doesn't the male carry more traits. You would think that could open up more of the line.

      This actually something I think I'm gonna do now that i finally have some indoor space. For the past 6 or 7 years I've only had outdoor going. And now i have a breeding project in mind and while I'm doing that i think I'm gonna play around with a male like this and see what happens.... maybe i should document it and share 🤔

    Id have to concur w/ Caleb and NSD regarding Chem D being a possible S1. When it comes to Chem, in my outdoor experience of the last 3-4 outdoor seasons everything Chem is outcrossed to it appears the Chem half dominates those lines. Everything Ive cracked of Chem, and what Ive bred myself is always some shade of Chem dominant expression in the next generation. Id recommend anyone who needs a solid limited genetic-expressed plant to breed with use the the Chem stuff as a start. Although dont expect yer Chem/Haze hybrid to express much Haze dom stuff. Chem'll suck it up and take it over.
    Would've loved to axe Caleb if he could find the Black Licorice Durb within his Durban S1 stuff? I grew a pack of his Durb S1's and found that fucking Terpinoline dominant Durb in em. Some of it was still quite buzzy but not the flavour profile I was looking for. Almost Lime/lemon-lime profile.
    That late 80's/early 90's Black Licorice Durban Poison was sublime. Solid 3 hr high. Id give my left nut for some of that early Durban work from that period.

    I love the shows....i hope we can get to 10k to get NotSoDog back soon.
    Please 🙏 do this.
    Take 2 vars ..one for strength, one for taste.
    Inbreed them both ( with males) selecting for the one assigned trait, for SIX gens, you will get really inbred weak progeny but either tasty or strong.
    Then on the SEVENTH gen cross them together......A TRUE f1 hybrid......the hybrid vigour will be off the charts
    There is some mystical truth about the 7th son and all that shit...but with plants the 7th gen or a cross of two 6th gen inbred lines will give you a true f1 hybrid....

    Were having a problem here in Canada I noticed that there isnt much interest in finding new stuff for market. Alot of it here is actually S1 knock offs of clone only popular (usually Cali) cultivar remakes. Like MAC 1. On the front its sold as "MAC 1" but Its actually labelled as "our (S1) version of MAC 1" on the back, but it isnt typically a quality representation of the actual clone only. So fucking sad. I caught onto their game here. Bland/forgettable expressions of the original. I wish the fuck we could open up plant numbers for breeding R&D here. 90% of what I see here on shelves is just a homogenous mix of forgettable cannabis with a 5 minute high. Quality of experience seems rather low on the list. If quality of experience isnt number 1 when breeding then everything downstream is just usually forgettable junk. WTF are we doing canna-folks? Make Quality of Experience Great Again, please "breeders".

      Look for 30 year Long hippy breeders, preferably that work of landrace cultivars and Focus less on bud structure/bag appeal and hunt for trichomes for Hash production and organoleptic profiles that keep their profile even as Hash.

    If anyone knows, you guys will, that is : Is there a blueberry x Sour Diesel in seed form that is both the real deal and available for purchase? Those two strains grow like wildfire for me here outdoors! However it gets really hot here sometimes for 2 weeks at a time and B.B. doesn't like it. Sour Diesel seems to thrive during these times if you water each day during mid afternoon to cool root zones. Sour ain't bad to trim but a bit ugly. B.B. outdoors is a nightmare to trim but lovely, I could go on, but point I am trying to get at is, I would love to try something like this . Especially if you guys could point me in a direction with your extensive knowledge of each strain. Ain't nothing like seeing something with your own eyes. As my late father said, Don't let nobody tell you how to grow corn if his silo ain't full, son.

    • @dennisrichards2604
      @dennisrichards2604 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      IMO, if u not breeding for quality of experience as your number 1 goal, everything else downstream is a waste of time usually. Our Canadian market here is filled with mostly unimpressive homogenous cannabis with a 10 minute high. I just shake my head anymore. At least CSI grows enough offspring populations he can tell you what you should expect out of his stuff. Cant be said for a lot of "breeders" in the industry sadly.

    • @BreedersSyndicate
      @BreedersSyndicate  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It depends on the project. I choose a group of traits. Simply put my goals change with each project. I choose a new goal and choose plants from my seeds or clone that can deliver plants with said traits.

      I lost the original BreeSynd where I linked a video of some of CSI's Purple Hindu Kush S1's- (one was an "anomaly?"). I will try to attach an updated short video. Before watching, please excuse the undead drinkholder setup, just waiting to put them outside, hopefully. The notable thing is the big/round leaves (from the "anomaly", vs. the smaller pointer ones on the slender one. Is this Purple Inica vs. Hindu Kush? Thanks again for the work.
