BMW N20 engine “Drivetrain malfunction” warning light and 11C404, 11C402 fault codes.

Most of the BMW N20 engines have a drivetrain malfunction light , most of the time this warning comes from engine control module , need to check engine , it also requires to check with special canner to make sure what is the reason for drivetrain malfunction.
It had 11C404 and 11C402 these two fault codes most likely from HPFP.

I’m having this same problem… my HPFP was replaced for a aftermarket one that have the same connection if I disconnect while the car is on it feels different but I still have the drivetrain malfunction sometimes.. I just put the old one back and it’s fixed .
