Beau Jaco There isn't at all actually! I work in the music industry and this is one of my biggest frustrations. All the festivals around the world that are inline with my "scene" or way of life are all psytrance festivals (Boom, Ozora, Rainbow Serpent, Universo Paralello, All the israeli festivals, etc). And yet here in the states there is not only no interest but outward dislike of psytrance music. I get that it can be overwhelming but psytrance experiences can really facilitate deep meditative states that I think ultimately could be enjoyed by most people if they come to it with the right mindset, and I think there should be a space for this in our scene! Gah sorry for my ranting but sometimes I just wish people would wake up! All that said, it is nice that at least the downtempo psy/bass scene is essentially booming from here. Hopefully with enough cross-polination we will all learn and grow and nuture the global community everywhere :)

I am a young aussie from the other side of the world and you and I have both come to the agreement (like many others who have had a wholesome psytrance experience) that nothing compares and that that type of partying can make you a better person. The fact that this kind of thinking is fairly unspoken but understood by all psy lovers speaks volumes about the power of the music and the experience. I would love to put on a few psy events in America sometime in my life. Take care fellow human!!
