ghulam, sarfarosh, rangeela, earth, fanaa and talaash some of his really different roles and with great acting....best thing about these films is that the supporting actors were as good as amir khan in these movies....

@@Raut-warrior it was a slightly different take on love and relationship in fanaa that's why it was good with really good supporting actors like rishi kapoor, kiran kher and tabu....earth is a movie on 1947 partition time with amir and nandita das in it....nandita das is the director of manto movie of nawazudin...

It wasn't just his roles that changed after 2000s. Bollywood never used to make different movies before the 2000s except for art movies. All the mainstream movies were identical love stories with lots of songs up to the 90s. But he took the lead in making story based movies

Watch 'Sarfarosh' of his. Has Naseerudin Shah in it and beautiful scores as well.
It has also a small scene with Nawazuddin..but it's hard to recognise him in it
Every single time I start watching Sarfarosh, something happens and I can't finish it or even reach near the climax. That movie is cursed for me. 😔

Lots ..his initial movies were with Juhi Chawla..it was a successful onscreen pair just like Srkajol..I loved Aamir Khan the most with Juhi..he just gelled with her onscreen like magic n second pair is Aamir and Madhuri..I dunno why they never worked later on..cos that was another awesome pair

Aamir and Juhi had 7 films together and 1 film where Juhi played a special appearance which was Andaz Apna Apna. Aamir and Juhi is my favourite onscreen pairing. I like SRK and Kajol but I prefer AamirJuhi as they have better visuals. Aamir and Juhi are MAGICAL together. I hope they will do more movies together.

Haven't had a aamir khan movie review since last year, you guys should review Talaash or Sarfarosh next.
Sarfarosh or Rangeela. Talaash is atmospheric but ultimately average and a letdown of a climax.

You should watch Aamir Khan in ‘1947-Earth’ (1999). This movie was *the* turning point in Aamir Khan’s career because he worked in sync sound for the first time. He sang the praises of director Deepa Mehta in every interview from that period and refused to work without sync sound since then. Lagaan, Dil Chaata Hai, RDB, all followed soon. I believe Lagaan was even delayed because of his new found love for sync sound. The movie was one of a trilogy from Indo- Canadian director Deepa Mehta (Earth, Fire, Water). ‘Water’ featuring John Abraham was nominated for an Oscar.

You missed the one when they showed Raakh, immediately after Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988). See his look there. And what he was capable of. If he had wanted to go in that direction, that is. Performance wise if you want to look at his best work in the 90s...watch Dil Hai Ke Maanta Nahi.

Late 80s -90s Aamir Khan was when he was the most handsome. I miss him in romantic roles. You guys should watch his debut movie as leading actor, Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. It's also Juhi Chawla's debut as heroine. It's a modern day Romeo-Juliet trope so if you want to watch a good quality romantic film, watch this one. The storyline, the execution, directing, the songs, natural acting and especially Aamir and Juhi's magical chemistry will really make you fall in love with the movie.
Dil hai ki maanta nhi, Raja Hindustani , ishq, sarfarosh and Rangeela, are the only movies of amir khan which i like before he became the amir khan and Andaz Apna Apna is my favourite movie of him.

He is also known has mr.perfectionist because evrry film of his that came out after lagaan was different from each other and perfectly made and they were all massive success. He is known after big b to be the most experimental artist.

Just so you guys know, Raja Hindustani was the first commercial film in which an on screen lip kiss was shown and Amir Khan was the first actor to do it onscreen.

His initial movies were all romantics and musicals many with Juhi Chawla.. Its 2001 (Lagaan) onwards that he became more and more conscious about the stories he did and made sure he would do only one project at a time... His earlier bests were qayamat se qayamat se (first commecially successful movie) Dil (with Madhuri), Hum Hai Rahi Pyaar ke , Rangeela, Raja Hindustani, Ishq, Andaz appna apna, Sarfarosh, etc which were all commercial successes and good stories.
