  • Recently I have travelled to Ireland using Stena Lines Cairnryan to Belfast route. I sailed on the Stena Superfast VIII. Following on from many videos I have watched where people have documented their ferry trips, I have made an episode about my own trip. So for a detailed tour of the ship and to delve into the facts and figures of the ship itself, look no further than this video. This ship is an excellent ship!

The Stena Superfasts have a dedicated pet lounge! So the dogs could have easily gone with you aboard.

@@happycamper8707You don’t have to get your passport checked when travelling within the U.K. Northern Ireland is part of the U.K. No passport check on the border with the Republic of Ireland either

Should have let the dogs out as soon as you got off the ferry.

Oh aye we did. Soon as we found somewhere. In cairnryan just before the p&o terminal there is a layby that we always park up in. There's footpath to the rocky shoreline of loch ryan so we always take them there too.

Did you need any certification for taking your dogs to norther Ireland?

@randlerobbertson8792 yeah...for the republic of Ireland, you are supposed to have a pet passport. Not northern Ireland.

@euancamm3810 it's seems Northern Ireland require a rabies shot , tapeworm trestment and a passport too

Wasn’t there anyone to ask for a passport or id?

Hi. No since its a ferry between Scotland and Northern Ireland, both in uk, a passport isn't required. ID is at the check in booth which i didn't film as we came in.

@@euancamm3810 thanks for your reply. I’ll do this trip with national express coach but I’m afraid I left all my identification document in Ireland where I live in. Do you believe they stopped to the bus to ask everybodies id. The ticket I bought sold by national express which included ferry as well.

How did you get from Ireland to Britain with no ID in the first place?

One thing they didn't bloody check is our pet passport for the dogs. My parents spent 80 quid on that as we went to donegal for the week, over in the republic. And no one checked it. Mum was on the verge of begging someone to look at it to make it worth £ 80.
