Im a die hard 2 stroke man too, but i often wonder how you would do on a 4 stroke. A more even playing feild. I seen degan video where Brian compared Hayden's 4stroke 250, to a 2 stroke 250. And he said that the 4 stroke was faster. He himself said that 250's should all run in the same class.
Last year I had a 450 that I really didn’t like so idk how I would do on a 4 stroke but I do think I’d do a lot better in the 250 class on my 2 stroke..but that won’t happen so just gotta go faster!

In aus we race 250 2t in the mx2 and can race big bored 250/300cc 2t in the mx1. Makes so much more sense. Would be so good for ama to adapt it. You’d see so many more 2 strokes

I say if the 2 strokes race then they should race in their class. 250 in 250 class and a 450 in a 450 class. Oh what? Is that not fair? Is the 450 2 stroke if it was made to powerful to race the 450 4 stroke class? Hell yeh it is! People have lost sight of what this racing is all about. I just got back into after being away for 20 years and it’s the most unorganized sport I’ve ever seen for amateurs. You get a damn trophy! They should all be working towards points per state. This would cause more riders to race and be given a number at the end of the year instead of picking your own stupid number. That makes no sense at all. Then you got 250 2 strokes that are forced to race in a 450 class. Someone please explain this to me because it’s just stupid. Maybe this is why there is no one at the local races. I also noticed that all the big pro races outdoors were all in the middle of the US and up north. How in the hell are they not racing in Houston? Houston had one of the most famous tracks ever with Rio Bravo and held pro races there back in the day. Someone needs to really get a grip on this incredible sport. I hate to see where it’s at now. I see the electric dirt bikes are on the way so for those that don’t think that ripping sound of a race engine is important you will fit well with the electric bikes. 4 strokes are a trail riding bike. We need race machines and that’s also what the fans want. The 4 strokes make power on the low end only so no need to rev them through a turn. Even the pros just casually lug them through turns. Makes me sick

Truly is my brother did it on a supermini 4th wfo around the whole track. That was during the covid shutdown bs and the owner of Unadilla allowed the amateurs too race on the main track instead of the back track.
Im pretty sure you could beat Jwalk if you would just race with a 450.. Again. Got one you can thrash. 2021 with 39 hrs... pretty much made into the Sr version.
I wish it was that easy but the 450 I had last year I really didn’t like it at all..maybe I just needed a better setup idk but I really love the 2 stroke just need my good motor back!

But if ur trying to compete at certain levels especially professional everyone is good at everything nobody has a big advantage over anyone. That being said the KTM 2 strokes r undeniably better than the yz. Anyone who says other wise just needs to ride it and get used to it and if u wanna cry about the air fork get spring it’s that easy.

I wish it was that easy but the 450 I had last year I really didn’t like it at all..maybe I just needed a better setup idk but I really love the 2 stroke just need my good motor back!

I tried a ktm late last year and really didn’t like it, I’m a YZ guy! Everyone has a different preference though

But if ur trying to compete at certain levels especially professional everyone is good at everything nobody has a big advantage over anyone. That being said the KTM 2 strokes r undeniably better than the yz. Anyone who says other wise just needs to ride it and get used to it and if u wanna cry about the air fork get spring it’s that easy.
You could tell the poor stock motor was tapped out. Any extra hp would have been used 90% of the time, lol! easy 2.15/2.16.
I would like to think that could have made the difference for me but gave it all I had! Hopefully we will have a little more to give at budds!
