Thermal cooking is so much fun. It’s wise to keep a few food safety points in mind to prevent food poisoning. The temperature of the surface of the pot doesn’t tell you anything regarding food safety. For this, you need to know the temperature of the food itself, an instant read thermometer is probably best for this. In order to retain adequate heat, you want your pot mostly full with a good amount of liquid, like 80% full. A good way to add more of a heat sink would be to get a metal pot that will hang from the top rim of the pot. Make your rice in that while you’re cooking your main dish. Mostly air in your pot will allow it to cool to fast.
I just saw you running North through Sioux Falls SD! So I had to check out your TH-cam. You must have been heading for North Dakota as you went buy I90
Loving your cooking video! I’m impressed with your new thermo pot! I also like your oil container with the flip lid. Is it glass or plastic? I need some of these for our Globtrotter. Where did you purchase? Looking forward to more recipes😊

Those are plastic water bottles, bought these from IKEA. There are so many different kinds, Walmart, Target, Dollar Store sells different ones.
Oh, dear! I saw you put the thermal cooker on the hot burner...be careful of that!
Thank You for the concern, the stove is an Induction Stove.
@@wanderingwanda9869 the glass surface still can be hot as it has absorbed heat from the conductive pot on it
