What I do if I have inks that have been sitting for a while and is very hard, I use a reducer and mix well. It works great... Had a half quart of white in for 5year, it was extremely stiff. I just added the reducer accordingly and the ink got back it's consistency and stay on great on the t-shirt.
Thank you! Hope it was helpful. Keep in mind every color, even with in the same brand will have a slightly different viscosity. That's normal. Happy printing!
I mean you wanna get all the ink you can back off it! scraping with ink cards is what i do. Ink is money so i wanna keep all of it I can from going to down the drain.
@@heatherjennings145 You will want to use ink degradent or press wash and a rag/paper towel/cut up shirt scraps to physically clean up the mixing blade. Unless you have a re-circulating tank set up to clean your tools, it can be time consuming. No matter what you do, it will get messy.
I bought some weird shit that was called ink reducer or something like that off of screen print direct website. It actually worked pretty good. It is a consistency of semen and looks exactly like semen too. It said to put 5% by body but I probably put about eight or 9% and it worked well.
Happy Monday, @sword123 n ! I would need to know just a little more about the PVC ink. When I hear PVC ink, i think of ink that can print on to PVC items. Which would not be the same as plastisol ink, it would most likely be a solvent ink.
For a more eco friendly option, use WATER BASED INKS! They do not require any solvents and they also feel nicer on the fabric as it sinks into the fabric, instead of sitting on top of it like plastisol does.
Hi!!, do you know what chemical component or additive is added to STRETCH plastisols to make them more elastic? I understand that plastisols are made of PVC and plasticizer along with other additives, but does anyone know what that additive is? I'm doing an experiment and I need to achieve an elastic/flexible texture, I understand that there are less flexible plastisols, which means that there is something extra in their components that can be increased to improve flexibility
Hi there! To increase the stretch of a plastisol ink , you'll need to add FN Stretch. Please see our recommendations for use on our site and give us a call anytime during business hours for further dialog on these inks! www.screenprinting.com/products/fn-ink-stretch
Excellent information! One of the most over looked procedures.
Glad it was helpful!

Yea, same for some older inks, but you still gotta mix em! haha
That's a great tip!! Thanks for sharing that here.
Thanks, this was helpful to also see the viscosity the ink's supposed to have.

I usually have to print 10 test prints to get my ink to a good temp
Good information
Thanks!
What the best way to clean off an ink mixer attachment?

@@skiskel9217 I get that, but how to get the ink off the paddle so I can use it again, especially if it's in another ink color?

@@Ryonet Thank you for this!
Can this ink be thinned with mineral spirits and heat set on vinyl?

What ink stirs best? FN?
Hi maybe a silly question here but are Plastisil inks & PVC inks that are available in the markets the one & same thing ?

Plastisol has better lightfastness and resistance to chemical damage and most solvents can also be recycled by a skilled chemist
Doesnt water based ink dissolve with water? Can you wash a fabric with that ink?
