John, I completely agree with you regarding the camera work. In the last 20-25 years videos have adopted this “never be on the same shot for more than 1.5 seconds” system. Personally I hate it because the viewer really doesn’t get the opportunity to see some really cool things. This song is just pure adrenaline though!
I agree with too many/rapid cuts in a lot of these new videos. The Warning live @ Teatro Metropolitan is a great example of how to film and produce a concert video in my opinion.
It's not only the director (camera producer/editor) for Nemophila's live Blu-rays, I have seen people complaining about it for Band-Maid live videos as well for example. Joel from the Party Like a Rockstar Podcast channel has done a couple of minirants on the topic for multiple Japanese bands. I have a feeling a lot of directors/editors for those live Blu-rays tend to cut these like a music video by cutting to the music. I agree that that doesn't work as well for live sets, they should leave more overview shots and just cut to soloists or maybe cut here and there if something cool happens instead. Please make it feel more like what you would get when you are there live.
Ah, but the reverse is also true: What you see in-person live is not the whole picture of what is actually happening either. Can't see what Tamu is doing when your back in the crowd. When I was at Hanabie's show, I was stage right, smack between Hettsu and Yukina, and Matsuri is on the other side; hard to see her as much. It IS a music video, so you get individual and wide shots. I guess there's pros and cons either way.
I get hate for saying it, but seeing them live is so much more powerful than a video. The energy in the room when those five gals are on stage together is electric and contagious. I've seen Pantera and Nemophila live. You're not wrong to compare them, but Nemophila is really just getting started.
Hell Yes love this song! Love all their songs. Great reaction. By the way you are going to Budokan to see them today? If so have a blast. Wish I could see them there but I bought the livestream ticket and will be watching from home here in the states.
I can't say for sure, but I belive it's the main reason why he went to Japan. I am pretty sure he was invited to be there as well, he just needed to get to Japan.
A misleading song maybe to introduce people to the band with, but g'damn what a song. I love that he loved it. I can't wait to see them someday. Keep the positivity and reactions coming my friend.
Thank you for finally doing this. How about Oiran next. It is the bands best guitar work. Use the most recent released live release the song gets heavier every time they release a version of it.
Haraguchi-san Haraguchi-san Haraguchi-san! "Hai" I was a person who HATED screams yet this is my favourite Nemophila song go figure the power of Female vocals
Tamu Murato is a world-class jazz drummer who also plays solo shows with multiple musicians: "Tamu Murata & Shiena Nishizawa" 【KiLLiNG ME】cover th-cam.com/video/vuPc0EvbIns/w-d-xo.html
i agree with what your saying but not the camera man's fault. it's the video editor (in the case of live streaming, the video switcher), the director, and ultimately the producer should be to blame.
Hello John. Sorry I bolted after the concert, but you were off to do your after show work. I was sitting between a fan from Atlanta and a Canadian. The Canadian was a professional cameraman and production editor. I coincidentally had this discussion with him at the concert, before seeing this reaction. His opinion is the schizophrenic camera shots in the videos are the fault (if you don’t like them), of the editor. The individual cameramen are normally given tasks like following a specific band member for the entire concert. The video editor then chooses all the different angles to piece together. Personally, I love their Blu-Rays, but I also understand your statement.
I absolutely love NEMOPHILA. Hope they come back to the US and visit the southeast, 🙏🙏 Atlanta.

Luv this song!! Glad you finally got to it! Absolutely mad live performance! My fav by far!!
Saw them in Dallas last year and you are totally right about their live show.
Best band out right now by a mile
Best band? Possibly, but Nemophila and LOVEBITES are so neck and neck its impossible to choose

Mayu is listed as 5'' 0" on fan pages.I still wouldn't mess with her.

5'2, same size as my wife. And a kind of normal sized Japanese woman. Those that are really small are Lovebites, they are 4'5 to 5'2.

Oh no Mayu is much shorter than 5'2". More like 4'10".
You are correct. She is probably 4’10”, but maybe 5’0”. The contrast in size and heavy vocals always leaves me in awe.
Hazuki is 5'2"

Respect the A Plea for Purging shirt!🤘🏻
Mayu's clean singing reminds me so much of 90s grunge era..
