Beautifully rendered. We must all bow the knee to Giacomo Puccini who lay the foundation in his heartbreaking opera Madame Butterfly. Highly recommended for anybody for entry into the wonderful world of opera.

Talented, hard-working, and magnetic, Ms. Motis, your songs always stay with me. This one in particular song was made for you and you played and sang it so beautifully...I will always remember it!
I love this song ....Never met many girls like "poor butterfly", met one...So ....So sorry my one "Poor butterfly, i though I could return , but.... Wish you well...
The highlight of this beautiful song is at 1:34 and is done to perfection by Andrea. Also Joan seems pleased (or relieved) it went so fantastic. Outstanding, well done everyone involved. a master piece.
Avez vous vu le public très nombreux ? Ceci atteste de la haute qualité de ce groupe de jazz... Merci qui...? Merci Mr Joan Chamorro d'avoir su découvrir de véritables trésors de cette musique
Excellent version! Still a fan of Charlie Kunz' stride rendition, Paul Weston’s arrangement on Music for Romancing, Jerry Vale treatment of the tune, Vic Hammett’s Wurlitzer cover, Sinatra & The Duke's take on it from the self-same year, and the one Doc Severinsen & Henry Mancini banged out for Brass On Ivory... and now this to add to my favorite takes on this dear old tune. Thanks =)
Lovely song, Andrea a beautiful girl and as equally talented. Song written in 1916. Can't believe it's over 100 years old but sounding so modern. Question: Accompanist's name at the piano. Thanks..
Andrea in 2015. She was a force already. What a bright star. Great group all around. Also---what is the name of this venue? Seems to be a great place to perform.
Chet Baker reincarnated in the body of a woman. Not to take anything from Ms. Motis, but no denying the influence. A hundred times more fun watching and listening to her than Chet. That's due, I'd say, to her being both a woman and somehow more wholesome. And she swings.
Why do they keep the camera on the bassist for the first six bars of her solo>? And there are some melodic/harmonic clashes, particularly from bar 12 on (2nd. half of the tune). In music, particularly when harmonizing a tune (i.e. arranging), there's something called "melodic consideration." In other words, the melody rules and one should not use chords that might clash with it. In today's day and age it seems to be a lost art. Listen to the Tony Bennett version. It might be enlightening.
Wundervoll…..🙏

Passing chords, perhaps?
No one can top the great voice and version of Sarah Vaughn.
vincent maresca I doubt if Andrea was trying to top Sassy’s version of this classic. Relax.
