I live just an hour away south from his old sound factory and when I was a boy pretending to be a man I’d chase his records down with my lawnmowing money, my snow-shoveling money or anything else money. I used to tell my dear late mother that he was the most important man ever gifted to us in music, not only for his talent but for, perhaps even more so, his message of empowerment and graceful unity and when he passed I was a grown man telling her how much I regretted never having the opportunity to tell him that. He had that in rare combination and still does. I remember long ago trying to alphabetize my records because I was DJing too much on radio and about town and my library biz was outta control. The B for Brown shelf told me the truth in NUMBERS. Three plus decades later I’m so satisfied with his interviews alone and that’s wild because even without the music he’s a shining star. I wish more people would focus on his pre-funk music though, cuz his 78 singles can still rip the barn offa roof and were highly competitive against any other contenders in the 50’s 👑👑👑
Yeah it's ashame his record sales declined during this time. James Brown made some of his best records ever in the late 1970's. What are some of your favorite albums or singles?
@@Taelathegazadivashe’s most definitely is, that’s my sister. He has a bunch of kids. Now tell me how do you know that she’s not his daughter please. Have plenty of receipts!
He wasn't just an entertainer
But a business man.
Tom Daniels is the best.
James was talking about issues

Brutha was our king! Hair was whipped!

At 6:15 Tom Daniels mentions JB's show the same night. A clip from the same show is posted here: th-cam.com/video/ambV8uElEZU/w-d-xo.html
???? Both of this clips were from Tom Daniels.
