Hi Darren. One of the best, if not the best. I have spent a few weeks finding useful tutorials, Many are, but man, are they lengthy. I loved yours. After viewing it, I just wanted to fly in and design straight away. Thanks for your skill. Really appreciated it. Graham South Africa
Thanks so much for viewing and all the kind words! ...it helps me keep going! Have you seen my latest video where I talk about the new group tutoring course I'm offering?
Thank you! I was trying to follow the template on my own and i was struggling until i found this video. This was very helpful and informative for someone new to the application.
Thank you so much for this. It's bee great going along with you feels like an actual class and tbh, probably the better way I learn having someone show me. Appreciate the time you've taken to put this together for us.
Hi Darren many thanks for this, never used Power Apps before, I was wanting to create a basic Service Desk. I got there with your guidance, :-) I got me app to work. Many thanks. I am going to carry on with continued learning in PowerApps and look forward to completing your 12 Week course. Fantastic jump into Power Apps very gratefull.
I don't know if there is a new version or my version is just different, but there were some issues for me as a complete beginner. In lesson 17 you give the formula to also sort the cities. For me the last argument for "Sort" cannot be "result," it has to be "value". Another thing is in lesson 22 the edit doesn't work if my data source is open. Maybe this helps anyone that is also confused! One thing I don't get yet is how to create data tables within the App. I looked at this template and found out that the sidebar on the left with all the lessons is a gallery of the data table "lesson". But I couldn't find where this data table is, how I can access it outside of the App screen or how it was even created. I imagine it quite useful when to try and create your own app. But thank you so much for your time in creating this video! It has helped me understand Power Apps a bit more
This really helped me out, and I ended up here because the Color Rule's If statement in Lesson 06 just wouldn't work. The video made me even more puzzled because Darren used the same formula format and Submit button functioned correctly. After playing around with it for a bit, I stumbled upon the solution: If(Discount.Value > 20, Color.DarkRed, Color.DimGrey). Not sure if the app changed since the tutorial, but using Color.ColorName did the trick for me.
Thank you for your video presentation. I completed the exercise, and the visual presentation helped me avoid being stuck. The Tips I took particular note of. The interface is slightly different now, but I could still complete the activity. I did note I was left a bit hanging on what you prefer to do when using EditForm versus NewForm when creating new records. It seemed you prefer EditForm, but you did not indicate how to to create a record with EditForm instread of NewForm. Can you please clarify?
Thanks for the feedback! Always use New Form for new records. EditForm is for editing existing records. Now that you are familiar with the basics, I'd highly recommend checking out the video I released this morning on using the Patch function (I don't use forms for any apps I write): th-cam.com/video/pKHyXyR3tYo/w-d-xo.html
@@PowerAppsTutorial Thank you for clarifying that. I have a new video topic idea for you. As a MS Office 365 Business Subscriber, how to design an app for multiple concurrent users without paying for additional licenses and premium connectors. Perhaps later show a pathway to Licensing with a sample business case. Currently I do not think would be able to convince my management to get a staff of 200 access to PowerApps Applications upfront.
@@CA999 Thanks for the feedback. I do have a whole series of videos I made for a garage. All the mechanics use the same login because there's only one computer out in the garage. And with SharePoint lists as the database, no premium licensing is required. Here is the whole playlist: th-cam.com/video/-OZ-ys2pw0Y/w-d-xo.html
@@PowerAppsTutorial I had a brief look at this today. It looks feasible, however, I wanting to have multiple Microsoft Office Users use their login with the application shared. It seems that worked, however, the only contention from a bit of research is that there appears to be no record locking mechanism. This is where the database (Sharepoint) record's row is not 'locked' to allow only the one user who is editing it. If this is so, how best to mitigate this problem? Do you have any video resources or guides on that please?
Hi Darren, thx for the video one doubt i have, is it possible change the column order in Data Table as it mentioned, Drag and Drop is also not working, any alternative?
erased all my changes, after saving religiously. came back the next day all changes are gone. what gives? It keeps popping up a message about saving to one drive,
But that is insane, as if you forget to save your work is gone. I assumed it was auto saving, nope. I just did an app last night, checked it now, and its all gone, as probably I never saved it initially.

Are you having troubles saving your PowerApps?
@@PowerAppsTutorial noticed that it did save, I just had to close browser and open up again. seemed to work after that for some reason, thanks
