@@rc5924 can you give an example? I don't remember anything that is completely impossible. The "this is not meth" is the most questionable scene i can remember.
@@Davis-tl1rc That explosive rock he makes in the first season. Its not how it works, the explosion is not nearly as strong. @Tyler's Tears: One wall, certainly. Two walls? Probably. Any more? Well, that depends on the space between them. 5.56x45mm is notoriously unstable after penetrating any obstacles. There is a good chance they will hit the 2nd and 3rd wall sideways and at a deflected angle. This is not necessary a flaw of the round. It was intended to tumble in the target, instead of cleanly penetrating, thereby delivering more energy inside the target, instead of whatever is behind it. The heavier loads are a bit better at penetrating (like the 62grs M855), but essentially still suffer the same effect. Especially seeing that he was shooting through the metal trunk first, I think going with 7.62x51mm was definitely the better choice here. Besided, finding a belt-fed 5.56 machine gun would probably have been a lot more difficult for Walter than finding a 7.62 one.
I've always thought that it was implied that it was a piece of shrapnel. The last shot before he got hit was a small numbered circular piece almost looking like a shooting target. I felt like they showed that purposefully to show what actually hit him. I could be totally wrong but that's how I saw it.

In BB, they showed 2 200 rd cans of M-60 ammo in the trunk when Walt took delivery. Since it wouldn’t have been possible to test without risking being caught, we can assume he clipped the belts together and all 400 rds were fired at the clubhouse. Myth Busters should have sprung for another belt just for shits and giggles. Might’ve sawed their plywood wall in half.
@@NaakteMolrattenZijnCool Just watched the scene again at Denny’s when he got it and there were 3 cans. I think they showed 2 when he was rigging up the garage door opener. The final scene ran 40 seconds of M-60 fire, about 400 rounds.
I did the math. The gun fired for 40 seconds consecutively. The m60 as a Max firing speed of 650 rounds per minute. 40 seconds=.67 of a minute. 650x.67=435.5. So theoretically he fired about that many rounds. 400 is a plausible number
Confirmed means it actually happened in the exact circumstances described. That’s why the bullet fall myth was both plausible and confirmed, as well as busted. The parameters of the story require the bullet to maintain a parabolic ballistic path, as the speed of a bullet at terminal velocity is such that it is unlikely to cause serious harm.
Mostlyharmless1985 ...So it was confirmed then. The busters built an oscillating machine gun that killed the dummies inside. In Breaking bad, Walt built an oscillating machine gun that killed the people inside.
Captain Obvious you get that those people aren’t actually dead though, they were doing something called “acting.” It’s a kinda like playing pretend. They aren’t actually dead. Since no one actually ever made such a machine or trap, it can only remain in plausible land.
Mostlyharmless1985 ....Ah, so your argument is that because actors pretended to be hit by bullets in Breaking Bad, then the mythbusters is not confirmed because it didn’t replicate actors pretending to be hit by bullets. Love the logic. If multiple bullets hit you and strike you in the head, hate to break it to you, but you’re not superman.
Captain Obvious no, my logic is such an event never happened in reality, because it’s fantasy, so unless it’s actually happened, exactly as the myth states, it can’t be confirmed, it can only be plausible.
Making meth in a mobile RV, next myth to bust. Only way to tell for sure is to see how good the final product is by trying it then start selling it. Expand the Mythbuster blue crystal territory and see if becoming rich by being a meth dealer destroys everyones life in the process. Plausible?

Aeig I've never watched - nor will I ever watch - Breaking Bad. I'm actually a pretty easy-going person for most things, but meth is one of the things I take a very serious stance against.
One detail I always feel like they missed is Jacks compound was made of cinder block, not wood. I m still pretty confident those 308 would be plenty deadly on the other side regardless but that wouldve really been the perfect test
I just went back to see, because your point intrigued me. It's not. It looks more like a Stucco façade or some other type of covering you would put on the outside in place of vinyl or actual brick.
@@tristanmike I was initially going to argue with you on that but went back and looked and sure as hell you are right. Its weird I always had it in my head that the place was made of cinder blocks. Like I said i m sure it wouldnt have made a difference either way. I ve shot cinders with 5.56 and even that little bullet chews through them pretty quick, Im sure a .308 would barely be slowed by them
@@ST19859 Yeah, I wasn't trying to be argumentative, in fact, I remembered the cinder blocks too, which is why I even bothered to check. It must have been the lines and the squaring of the Stucco that had me thinking cinder blocks. Anyway, just goes to show our memories stink when it comes down to it. lol
+Chakib Tsouli They did a BB special before and I think both things they tested didn't work. The explosive Walt threw on the ground at Tucco's in season 1 and the bathtub of chemicals to dissolve the body both didn't work.
+Chakib Tsouli The bathtub didn't work. The Mythbusters used different tubs and different acids and they couldn't get a gun or all the remains to dissolve. None of the bathtubs lost their bottoms. Also, they tried throwing the stuff on the floor to see if they could blow the windows out of the place while everyone was ok but the amount didn't do anything and the force of the throw didn't set it off either. Then they rigged it to blow but the amount wasn't big enough to blow the windows out like in the show, so they used the whole bag and it demolished their make-up house.
Gordon Sumner well he created Breaking Bad , which is the highest rated television show ever and ofter referred as the best tv show ever made by many critics along with wire/soparanos. One thing which no other show has managed to do which BB did was , it improved with each season consistently and its 3rd last episode is said as the "best episode ever made". If that doesn't makes you a legend.... I don't know what does....
I bet that the bullets that went way off mark were from the initial 30 to 40 rounds that had to penetrated through the car first. Once that section of the car was cut out and the bullets could freely travel I guarantee all the rounds hit their mark.
+KKortez Yeah the acid bath tub, the fulminated Mercury explosion from when Walt first meets Tuco, and then Mike guest stars and they test out if he could've actually pinpointed a shot with the suppressed gun through a wall like he did in the season 3 finale
"Breaking Bad Finale Breakdown", if you didn't finish, why did you click? and stayed and watched it for 20 seconds. what are you, an artistic masochist?
Man, when Adam first turned on the contraption and the barrel swung toward him my heart skipped a beat haha. Don't let machines handle your firearms, that's how they'll get us!
The only thing I would complain about is the fact that the gun was set up in a way it had to shoot through the car mostly before it could get to the wall
I was speechless when I saw this on the show, walts desperation and shell of a broken man how he handled everything was so well portrayed by Bryan Cranston. Couldn't be more content with the finale.
After watching the trailer and a couple of breakdowns, I keep getting Breaking Bad related videos. I won't complain though... 😎 Cheers from France! 🍻🇫🇷🇺🇸
Mythbusters was such a cool show. I remember watching it with my dad all the time and then we would watch the mythbusters marathon in December. Just a combination of awesome episodes and good times
Man the real machine gun sounds so much better and fires so much faster in real life, if they had added that kinda affect int here it would have been more epic.
Joseph Summers Yeah I always really enjoyed the scene but felt the machine gun was unrealistic in how it fired and how it looked which was kinda a bummer but still a great scene.
Well it was kind of in slow motion so that you see the bullet rip through and kill the guys. If it was normal speed it would have happened almost instantaneously.
Kinda wish that Jamie and Adam had included the automatic trunk opener clicker. They went as far as perfectly duplicating the firing M-60. So why not go the extra yard?
A machine gun chatters when firing from recoil so it causes the bullets to land all over that is how a fixed machine gun is used in the military in areas of approach in what is called the beaten zone .I am a 10 year vet of the US Army 19D20 and I knew this was really how an M-60 would have worked for Walt when I saw the episode.
I didn't like that they didn't include the function of automatic trunk opening and the level of the gun higher than the sidewall of the trunk but since they described Vince Gilligan as a living legend I forgive them.
i like how the team on the show did actually build this rig that works themselves, but obviously not with an actual gun with live ammunition - mustve been awesome for vince to see the real thing really, if it was still around, they couldve got the prop and set it up and it wouldve worked like a beauty
Its because of shows and videos like this that Vince Gilligan was motivated to get it right, and when it comes to Breaking Bad, thats what counts. One of the best TV dramas ever.
That safety glass they were standing behind didn't look very thick. Had the swivel stand failed and the gun spun 360, that could have ended very badly.
They did tests in the early seasons to make sure these barriers were sufficient. If you'd watched many episodes of Mythbusters, you'd know their top priority is safety.
I believe they also had a dead man actuator for the trigger. All Jamie would have had to do was release the actuator and the gun would have stopped firing. So with that, the fact that it could not swing around to the left (barrel would have hit the end of the trunk), nor to the right (barrel would have hit the garage door opener), and they were behind a safety barrier, they were fairly safe.
Vince Gilligan is just sweating buckets like “please God let this work”

A true testament to the writer Vince Gilligan. He puts so much effort and thought into his projects. Thank you.
People overrated Gilligan. Remember he has an entire team of writers coming up with ideas, he even admitted the show wouldn'[t have been nearly as good without them
@@lockardthegoat5157 And those writers remember who they're working for
@@JustRememberWhoYoureWorkingFor That's demonstrably dumb. 👎

Be better than this.
Werent there 4 200 rd cans?
@@NaakteMolrattenZijnCool Just watched the scene again at Denny’s when he got it and there were 3 cans. I think they showed 2 when he was rigging up the garage door opener. The final scene ran 40 seconds of M-60 fire, about 400 rounds.
@@brinsonharris9816 ah ok
I did the math. The gun fired for 40 seconds consecutively. The m60 as a Max firing speed of 650 rounds per minute. 40 seconds=.67 of a minute. 650x.67=435.5. So theoretically he fired about that many rounds. 400 is a plausible number

Why not “Confirmed”? Seemed to work exactly like in the show.

Plausible?

Pretty much anything in Breaking Bad was plausible. The show was so scientifically accurate.
I think they fucked up when Mythbusters didnt use crystals and they used powder in the explosive myth
+Tasu Sutinen i think they already did
+Chakib Tsouli They did a BB special before and I think both things they tested didn't work. The explosive Walt threw on the ground at Tucco's in season 1 and the bathtub of chemicals to dissolve the body both didn't work.
+Chakib Tsouli Apart from Gus walking out of that room before dying
+Chakib Tsouli The bathtub didn't work. The Mythbusters used different tubs and different acids and they couldn't get a gun or all the remains to dissolve. None of the bathtubs lost their bottoms. Also, they tried throwing the stuff on the floor to see if they could blow the windows out of the place while everyone was ok but the amount didn't do anything and the force of the throw didn't set it off either. Then they rigged it to blow but the amount wasn't big enough to blow the windows out like in the show, so they used the whole bag and it demolished their make-up house.
"All of this is stuff you could buy within a local town like Walt had to do..."
Counting the M60 too I suppose.

The Crypter and made great scripts for x files
I bet that the bullets that went way off mark were from the initial 30 to 40 rounds that had to penetrated through the car first. Once that section of the car was cut out and the bullets could freely travel I guarantee all the rounds hit their mark.

"Walt is okay!"
SPOILER ALERT!
he dies.
But did the side of the trunk of the car catch on fire like it did in the BB episode from the heat of gunfire?
Could of been the tracer rounds that started the fire on the side of the trunk
Walt was using AP Tracer rounds, that's why the trunk was on fire, I don't think the MythBusters used anything other than ball ammo
There was a small fire on the car.
If they used a sedan instead of a coupe it would have been on fire

Wow so it really is plausible that Walter got hit 😯. Amazing
Man the real machine gun sounds so much better and fires so much faster in real life, if they had added that kinda affect int here it would have been more epic.
They almost slowed it down like 0.7 speed in BB.
As well as multiple cuts of different angles of the shooting.
It was slow motion other wise you never would have seen the bullets
For people who didn't think this would work, This is a M60 that fires a 7.62x51mm NATO round. The devastation of the fire power in insane.
Kinda wish that Jamie and Adam had included the automatic trunk opener clicker. They went as far as perfectly duplicating the firing M-60. So why not go the extra yard?
Found the show my freshman year when my family got Netflix, my life truly never the same. I’m going to college now. Beautiful show.

@@Panzermeister36 facts
experiments like these they'd have tested the thing multiple multiple times just to make sure they're safe
I'm guessing there's stuff done not shown here. Like bolting that tripod to the bottom of the trunk.
