    I got the Milksteak lather right and was superb! But... I used almost the 1/3 of the soap when loading...

    I agree on the Karve, people will only stand quite for so long without contact! At a minimum he needs to change his lead time online! When I got mine it said two weeks, it ended up being closer to six! I messaged once and he replied though, so I was happy with that! Great Shave!

      Cheers pal! Yeah Chris has got an amazing product! If he can match the customer service to the product he will thrive!

      Sean Mason true indeed. Knowing is half the battle for sure. I hear that they're fine razors. Absolute love the hammered handle one.

    That's the Yaqi Moka 26mm. Nice brush. It gets its name and design from the Bialetti Moka Express.

    Great Shave Cris. the Grand Valley sounds like a pretty good soap and that brush lathers like a champ, especially considering it's badger. I got my Karve a day after my Face Fats soaps arrived. The soap is very rich and slick, quite liking it. I loaded a Nacet in the Karve with a C plate and have been using it the last few days, I'm playing with the angle a bit and find myself riding the cap more than I do with most of my currently used razors. Once I dial in the angle I'm sure it'll be an 'auto-pilot' razor. It is a wee bit mild perhaps. I might get the D plate and try that. I haven't tried the B plate just yet. All up though, gives up some very close shaves. A well made razor.

      @AnotherCutAbove  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I think for the $$$$$ it’s amazing bang for buck! I took to the angle like a duck to water! Great razor! The face fat is great soap! Will last a long time too considering how hard it is!

    Yaqi Mocha express 2-band. Great brush that punches well above its price point.
    Overall nice shave as well and there's a good amount more where that came from, over here in Canada.
    As per, great video.
    Only 9 days to go before the season starts. I'm buzzing! :)

    Hows the backbone and density on this brush compared the wcs pink silvertip you have?

    • @AnotherCutAbove
      @AnotherCutAbove  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yaqi make a blue handled silvertip that's very dense and soft. This one has a good knot but similar density to the pink silvertip but not as luxurious on face.

      Which has the most backbone?
      Ps. I apologize for so many questions

    • @AnotherCutAbove
      @AnotherCutAbove  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      All good buddy, definitely the wcs brush. But neither are super string backbone. If you're looking for heaps of backbone I would likely look at an omega professional. Boar brush. Takes time to break in but super once it is!

      Thank you I only own a semouge boar brush its good. I was just looking into getting a badger brush next. But couldn't decided which one to try.

    • @AnotherCutAbove
      @AnotherCutAbove  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Semogue make a great brush but I find their premium blonde boar knot to get too soft and with no backbone and also am lather eater. Hopefully you got a goody! I still reckon your going to struggle to find a knot with loads of backbone without going hand tied which then costs a fair bit m

    Another great shave! I believe somebody else mentioned it, but the new formula under Randy is amazing… It’s more like a cream in the tub but it is still a soap And it is one of the slickest things on the go

    I've heard the best way to get up-to-date with what he's been doing lately is to look at his instagram page.
    instagram.com/karveshavingco/
    The description for his latest instagram picture is this:
    "So, what the heck is going on at Karve Shaving?! We’re still going strong and starting to catch up, that’s what! This week is 1700’s and next week is 1800’s, so the end is in sight. Big news, I finally have help for bead blasting now!!! Bead blasting has been a big bottleneck for a long time because it meant standing in front of the cabinet for hours on end, not being able to do anything else for that. And some of those better fixtures I’ve been hinting at are finally built...18 top caps at once!!! Lastly, I’m making a hard push to catch up messages. I’m not there yet, but I’m setting aside a bit of time each day."
    Of course many people don't look at his instagram page, so won't know what's going on. I e-mailed him 4 days ago asking if he had an ETA for a stainless steel version of the Karve, but honestly I'm not expecting an answer anytime soon.

    Good shave Cris, I have the Yaqi 26mm, good brush, quick question mate, did you have a problem with a Rockwell razor where it was showing more blade on one side, I would appreciate your thoughts, cheers Neil, PS did you see my Tallow + Steel mail call, epic!!! my treat for the year.

    • @AnotherCutAbove
      @AnotherCutAbove  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah would you like my forwarding address now or yesterday hahaha yeah I I had it where the actual blade gaps were different so one side was smoother than the others!

    • @MrBerksboy
      @MrBerksboy 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mate, if I had the money to buy another set and send them to you I would, but if you want some generous samples of each (ones you don't have I would be more than happy) I used Sicily last night, it's nice similar to Colonia scent but the aftershave makes you face feel great and it just got better and better as time went on.

    • @AnotherCutAbove
      @AnotherCutAbove  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nah mate wouldn’t dream of it! I’ve been spoiled severely this year by the shaving community! Just yanking your chain hahaha

    nice video. any chance you try the karve with a shitty blade to see if the razor can tame the usage of a crap blade? Like the blade you did not like in the yaqi doc.

    G’day Irish Hog. Do you find the Yaqi 26mm Finest is worth it and does the brush and backbone feels good on your Irish face.
    Also what’s the loft height on that brush because it does look tall around 57 or 58mm, because I’m worried about the backbone might be too weak to face lather my face.

    • @AnotherCutAbove
      @AnotherCutAbove  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Backbone isn’t it’s strong point buddy. Not sure on the loft mate but it’s splays very easily. Still has scrub but nots heaps.
