Yep. Happened to me. We were good to each other and we still loved each other but distance forced us to break up. This is probably the most painful kind of break up because in theory I should still be with the person, but I'm not. The relationship was in a good place. Nothing can prepare you for the heartbreak with someone that you're supposed to be with still because y'all were good sans extraneous circumstances.

Hope you're okay now, I am in a similar situation as yours, dealing with a narcissistic person. We can't change anything about them, you'll constantly accept them but nothing changes and everything goes back the way it is. One thing is for sure, we both didn't give up:) we gave them hundreds of chances, until we felt nothing, so no regrets at the eng because we tried so hard until we're left with nothing, no self esteem, confidence and just pure broken. A classmate of mine end his life yesterday. To me he was my friend. He is a good person a classroom clown he makes everyone feel alive. It hurts so much knowing he end his life the same way i tried to take mine. I wish I could go back and do something for him or let him know that he is a part of my life and that I treasure all the memories he left me. Rest in peace. Currently on 4 years myself. It's weird because the last gal I was with I fell in love with too quickly to admit and it was a catalyst to ultimately end things. It was a learning experience, and becoming less afraid of those feelings of "the one that got away" are never going to go away, but I truly believe thats a good thing. I know this is more of a break up song, but it resonates to me completely differently. Back when I was a kid most kids my age didn’t like me and older people, including my older sister and mom, didn’t seem to love/care for me either, but one day my mom forced my sister to take me when she went out with her friend (guy) and he was one of the first older person I felt was genuinely nice to me. I always looked up to him, but sadly wasn’t able to pay it forward to him. Many years after first meeting him, me and my mom got into a big argument right before he came over and overwhelmed with anger I went to my room. When he came in the first thing he asked my mom was where I was and that he wanted to make sure to say hi to me since he was just stopping by. I came out, just to basically shrug him off not knowing that was the last time I would ever see him since he killed himself later that same week. I often blame myself because if I had shown him the same love that he had always shown everyone that day, maybe he wouldn’t have gone through with it. Listened to this song a month ago and it was too accurate to the breakup I was going through. Another month before that, I broke up with my boyfriend because I had lost hope in our relationship and thought the way we handled things differently would cause us to never work out. I was so heartbroken every day after the breakup, even though we were on okay terms and I had initiated it. This song helped me realize that love is about working things out because nothing matters more to you than the other person. Hope you're okay now, I am in a similar situation as yours, dealing with a narcissistic person. We can't change anything about them, you'll constantly accept them but nothing changes and everything goes back the way it is. One thing is for sure, we both didn't give up:) we gave them hundreds of chances, until we felt nothing, so no regrets at the eng because we tried so hard until we're left with nothing, no self esteem, confidence and just pure broken. When I hear this song, I think about my ex as I'm sure many of us do. But it's more than just that, it's realizing your destructive tendencies, how young you are, and how we still have so much to learn in life before we can truly give ourselves away to other people. My ex walked out on me, and took my year old son with her, so when i hear this song, it makes me dissect the lyrics, especially the "swear I'm different than before, I won't hurt you anymore." Because that was one of the things that I said to try and get another chance, to show her how much I could love her and our son. But alas, it didn't work, and now over 9 months later, we are both leading very different lives, going different directions, and I honestly think we're better for it. But hearing a song like this, just months after that whole situation, it's insane to relate to art so much. Looking back on it, I just treasure the time that we had together, "you were good to me" is an understatement. We created a beautiful life together and I'm forever thankful for it.

I know this is more of a break up song, but it resonates to me completely differently. Back when I was a kid most kids my age didn’t like me and older people, including my older sister and mom, didn’t seem to love/care for me either, but one day my mom forced my sister to take me when she went out with her friend (guy) and he was one of the first older person I felt was genuinely nice to me. I always looked up to him, but sadly wasn’t able to pay it forward to him. Many years after first meeting him, me and my mom got into a big argument right before he came over and overwhelmed with anger I went to my room. When he came in the first thing he asked my mom was where I was and that he wanted to make sure to say hi to me since he was just stopping by. I came out, just to basically shrug him off not knowing that was the last time I would ever see him since he killed himself later that same week. I often blame myself because if I had shown him the same love that he had always shown everyone that day, maybe he wouldn’t have gone through with it. He was always good to me, and I just want to tell him that I’m sorry.

Listened to this song a month ago and it was too accurate to the breakup I was going through. Another month before that, I broke up with my boyfriend because I had lost hope in our relationship and thought the way we handled things differently would cause us to never work out. I was so heartbroken every day after the breakup, even though we were on okay terms and I had initiated it.
This song helped me realize that love is about working things out because nothing matters more to you than the other person. Listened on repeat, then realized that I was going to be strong and not give up on the love that was still there.

major panic attacks and anxiety for the future really set me on edge mid 2020. i couldnt handle the uncertainty that covid brought, and to combat that i went through music. this album and this song in general came to me at just the perfect time in my life, and for that i am forever grateful :)

That feeling when you know you're falling for someone you can't have. I'm in love with my best friend...she's everything I've ever looked for in a person. Her generosity, she was so genuine. The way she made feel was like no other. I thought we could've been something but she seems so caught up on something or someone else and I can't control it. I wish her the best with everything even though everyday it hurts more and more. Just wish I could be the one to treat her right and love her more and more everyday. God what I'd do to be that person for her. She's my bestfriend and I'm so thankful for that but I just really wish things could be different.
