This an example of social Audit. Had it not been the social media the fact that bridge had cracked may not have been known to public. In such type of long concreate Bridges at girder joints and given the high and added heavy vehicles traffic density these bridges do need maintainence at Girder joints. But since tunnel was not thrown open for 100% traffic , development of the crack so early is a cause of concern somewhere. But the agency that constructed the new tunnel has perhaps constructed this strip also, so that is the point of solace in this case. Good work keep it up.

Good video to show the so called crack happen on the bridge. In fact any bridge or flyover is made in many parts, and each part is called a span. This helps in reducing the stress over the bridge due to different kind of loading. It also makes the structural design of the bridge more workable and economical. It also helps to reduce the stress developed by variations of temperature. These joints are filled by some loose and flexible materials so as to give a smooth road surface over the joints. These joints have to be regularly inspected, monitored and maintained by the authority responsible for road maintenance. There is always wear and tear on these joints, and their regular maintenance and upkeep is essential. So what was publicized as crack, is not essentially not a crack. It is lack of proper supervision and maintenance of the responsible authorities. I hope in future they will be more alert, lest any accident should happen over these joints by any speeding vehicle.
Excellent
