    This video is set in Plant City, Florida near Tampa in central Florida. I live in south central Alabama about an hour's drive from the Florida state line. Our winters here are cold enough to kill any exposed part of the moringa tree, but protected parts (such as underground roots) can survive the cold. However, if those roots are in soil that is not well drained, they will rot. Some of my moringa came back from the roots in mid spring. Quite a few did not come back until the weather got kind of hot in June. I'm hoping the rest will come out when it gets even hotter in July and August.
    For next winter I hope to protect not just roots, but sections of trunk of my moringas. I've heard that makes for a faster recovery in the spring.
    I had almost 60 moringa planted and so far maybe 20 of them have made a come back. I've also planted some new ones this year and I've begun experimenting with intensive planting. I'm not sure if the intensively planted ones will have enough room for their roots to come back next year. I might have to thin them.
    My moringa powder is a much prettier shade of green than what I buy in the health food stores. I'm guessing part of that is that it's very fresh. It takes quite a bit of leafy material to make a little bit of powder. One of those blue reusable Walmart shopping bags full of leaves gave me about a pint of powder. I did an initial grind in a blender and then ground it a bit finer in an electric coffee grinder. I made a strong effort to pick out all the stems, but after sifting the powder through a sieve, I ended up with a mass of fibrous material with some leafy material mixed in that wouldn't go through the sieve. I didn't want to throw this away (because it had some leafy content in it), so I used it for tea. I put the powder in the freezer because I wasn't sure it was completely dry and to slow down the loss of nutritional value from aging.

    Hi, I live in Central Europe and have ordered 250 Moringa seeds from Italy. I intend to mix some regular garden soil with compost mix and as I understand that I should use some sand in the mix, I wonder if you might have some advice on whether or not I should soak the seeds in water for 24 hours first? In this video you just popped the seed half an inch into your mix so I could do the same. We usually have very hot summers and last year we hovered around 35 to 45 degrees and in winter we had minus 10 Celsius but it can get down to minus 17. And that will be challenging for me. I will check your other videos and thank you for a great energetic production. 🏆

    Well as far as questioning the health benefits Of moringa, I have been taking one tsp of moringa powder with a bowl of 5 grain cereal, (hot) I get from Winco, every morning. I no longer have a bowel problem. I now have normal movements. I buy it on line so dont even know if the quality is that good but it is organic supposedly. I can hardly wait until my moringa trees get big enough to harvest.

      You dry them out completely. Then grind them in a coffee grinder. You can buy empty gel capsules at a health food store and fill them yourself.

    My Moringa always die when they come up. They reach about one to six inches then lay down and die. What's up with that? I've planted over 25 seeds in the last month nothing grows. And what's more I live in a hot part of the country
    Son lakes Arizona. Where are you located, I don't know what I'm doing wrong but ohhh well. Any suggestions??

    • @DevelopAwesomeSkills
      @DevelopAwesomeSkills 7 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Steven James hot is ok. You want to make sure when you plant that you have well draining soil. Moringa is prone to root rot if the soil does not drain well... to combat that and make a healthy moringa... dig a BIG hole. 2ft x 2ft x 2ft deep... fill with well draining mix of compost worm castings, native soil and add sand if you need it to drain more.
      Then if you are in Hot climate, Mulch heavy 3feet around the tree.
      Hope your moringas grow!!!

    • @RTUG00
      @RTUG00 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Steven James I live in Glendale AZ and have had similar challenges growing moringa. I agree. Try changing up your soil. I don't have a lawn (condo patio gardening). But I've got some new seedlings growing in a pot with about 50% worm casting/ seed starting mix and they seem to be doing ok. They're only about a month old and have grown to about 8 inches. We'll see how these do. Good luck!
      Also, If you are starting yours in containers, choose a large pot. I've heard that young moringa trees can die in transport process if the roots are even slightly damaged going from pot to ground. Plan to give them enough space to mature a bit.

      Steven James try and start growing Mornings from A Cutting.
      All you need to do is to Cut a Thick Branch of Moringa.
      And plant it in the soil.
      Water it daily and within few weeks you will have a full grown moring plant

      Sucks eh?
      We cut down the watering and they turned green...
      If they had stayed yellow are 2 weeks we woul have then increased the watering...
