- We welcome you in Jesus name to worship with us at our 8:30 AM Sunday Eucharist as we celebrate the 26th Sunday after Pentecost. The Rev’d Mr. Robert Alan Shivers, our parish deacon, preaches “Holy Keys: You Are Delivered” (Daniel 12:1-3). The color of the day is green, which signifies growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, His Father, and the Holy Spirit.
From the console of our 47 rank Austin pipe organ with trompette-en-chamade, Bill Glisson leads the singing of joyous hymns: “My Lord, What a Morning!” (Entrance); “Jesus, Still Lead On” (Hymn of the Day); “Through the Night of Doubt and Sorrow” (Recessional). Our Sunday distribution hymns are: “Lord, Take My Hand and Lead Me”; “Christ Is Made the Sure Foundation”; “O Lord, Now Let Your Servant.”
Special music for the weekend: Bill Glisson’s organ prelude “WESTMINSTER ABBEY” (Purcell/Lasky); Bill Glisson (organ) and Jan Vick Betts (piano) play “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring” (Bach) at the 8:30 offering. Bill’s organ postlude “Alla marcia from EBENEZER” (Culli).
