As an Afghan girl living in Jalalabad, Afghanistan, I didn’t know some of the things you have shown us. These videos were incredible! They made me smile and feel proud! I watched them with my family, and we laughed and enjoyed them together.
I watch these kinds of videos a lot, but I promise I have never seen anything like this in my entire life! This is so brave! This is something even Afghans couldn’t do. Unbelievable!
Ginger doesn’t look American; she looks like an Afghan woman, really.
Thank you for showing the reality, not just to the world, but also to Afghan people. Those of us living in cities and the new generation like me were also blinded by the media. I hope I can see more videos like this.
By the way, Islam is the religion of peace, as you can see. We just can’t accept other people dominating us and taking over our country, which no one would allow.
    Thanks again! 💛

Ginger looks like an Arab girl. I agree with all other statements except the last paragraph. If normal Afghans cannot enjoy even this much freedom, then what more to say about religion of peace. Compare Jesus Christ versus Muhammad. Compare their life histories... Jesus never married, let alone 6 year old Aisha and dozens more.

As an Afghan, I am proud to see how our people treat their guests with respect and kindness. Although many of the warm words spoken by my people may not be fully translated, I know how genuinely kind and welcoming they are. Please, the world, do not label us as terrorists. We are, without a doubt, among the most compassionate and loving people in the world, regardless of how we may be treated. Love and respect from Afghanistan.

I grew up going to school with a few kids from Afghanistan and they lived up the street from me. They were one of the absolute nicest families I’ve ever met who never judged me or my family for anything; they just accepted me as I was and welcomed me whenever I stopped by or was hanging around with their kids. There is so much respect to be shared between judgement and belief and lack there of. These episodes are such a special (and hilarious) showing of respect, kindness, and general humanity shared between cultures that haven’t publicly shared much together. I love seeing the bond so much, thank you for noting how kind and lovely your culture actually is ❤

I'm so enjoying this series, so far with the Afghanistan episodes it's completely opened my eyes to how kind and compassionate and welcoming the afgan people are. I've never travelled yet so have never been able to experience anything like this myself and I only have what I've seen in the media to go on. Sadly this isn't how I'd seen Afghanistan portrayed before in the media. This has given me such a positive outlook and it's really heartwarming to watch all your interactions. Truly amazing series and I cant wait to see all the upcoming countries!!

@StinkyDustyBird any biographies you recommend I read? Prior to the TFIL series I had only seen media of the war, Islam extremists associated with Afghanistan or about how rude and antisocial the afgan asylum seekers are in the UK. Obviously not all Afghan people should get tarred with the same brush but this is the first positive media I've seen of the country.

You’ve shown me, and a lot of others, the side of Afghanistan that the news, and government didn’t want anyone to know about. Your guide Munir, seems like the best one to have while visiting. He’s fun, makes jokes, knows a lot about everything, and is a very good translator. Also, knows when to tell you to stop filming for your protection. That’s a number one guide in my book.
Someone made a comment here stating that their son is in the military, and is currently there, and said “it’s not safe.” He works for the government of course he’s gonna say that, and he’s in the military, Afghanistan people have to trust American soldiers it won’t be over night, especially the Taliban. We’ve all been watching Marti, Elton, Ginger, and Jerry perfectly safe throughout their travels. Munir you’re one spectacular man, and you’re amazing at what you do. Pashtuns have a culture that we call Pashtunwali and one of its top values is respecting the guest as much as you can. Though this culture has many drawbacks as well but you know it has some of the best valuable things in the world in it.

It’s so important that you’re doing these videos. You watch the people of Afghanistan and how they are so hospitable, even the Taliban soldiers, and then you watch the YT channels, like Shawn Ryan, and you see how most, if not all of the American Special Ops guys agree that we should’ve never been in these wars, even telling stories about how locals saved their lives. Goes to show when you put a money hungry military industrial complex up against a radical ideology, you will have an endless war between regular, good people that do not want anything to do with it. Sad. IMAGINE More power to the people of the world and no power to evil forces on both sides. Sounds like a John Lennon song.

This Afghanistan series has really made me look at life a different way yes people will never forget 911 but also we as people also have to look at their lives and how they are brought up and taught way different than we are in America. I've learn more from this series then I have in my year's. Know I don't believe in the killing or what has happen but I do believe in forgiveness and that they are alone one that can hold anyone in judgment my heart goes out to the people of Afghanistan they bleed the same as we do and Elton, Ginger and the tore gay that took them around Afghanistan I can't think you all enough I wish I was able to afford to watch the whole series because I know it does mean alot and I know for myself I never be able to visit Afghanistan but being able to see it through y'all's eyes means so much and has truly changed the way I look and have felt about things and us as Americans have it made and some don't realize how made they really have it to you see people like the ones in Afghanistan that don't have it like we do that don't know where they're next meal going to come from it's sad and heartbreaking. Elton, Ginger when y'all make it to South Carolina and if I'm still here I pray might be a little older but I welcome y'all with open arms to be able to show y'all around my small town and we have some haunted places and some life long stories that will stay forever but I truly would love to meet you all and hoping you could visit this small town in Union South Carolina. But much love to you all and safe travels on y'all's journey and maybe by time y'all make it to the South Carolina we might have a little Elton or a little Ginger but God bless y'all and truly this is amazing and think you so much for sharing it with us to also learn and see. THANK YOU From the bottom of my heart ❤️❤️❤️

I honestly never considered how interesting of a life being a translator and guide could be until the moment Munir said that even for him it was crazy to be where Osama Bin Laden used to live because he had never experienced that before. And then the dinner and the rest of the interactions made me reflect on that. Within just your days there, Munir got to experience so many things too within his own country. Things that he hadn't ever done before and created happy memories for himself too within it all. It's crazy to me that I had never realized how amazing being a translator could be. Not only to be a bridge between languages, but be able to create memorable memories since it was because of him that some of these experiences were even possible. Major props to him 👏👏👏 Aside from that, I've said it in comments of the other videos but just... Mind blowing.... The way they were so quick to welcome you guys into their homes, for dinners, lunches, tea, making jokes and teasing.. It's certainly not what I had always had in my mind when I thought of the people who live in Afghanistan. However, to be honest, I never really had paid much attention to any of the media we grew up seeing about their country because everything was always tough news. I remember when Osama was killed, but until this video I had never bothered to really know the history of why he was even being looked for. I just knew he was somehow connected to 9/11. This whole series made me realize my own ignorance in many ways. In my mind, Afghanistan was always just a country that I heard in passing when the war was mentioned and Osama was someone I only heard of mainly in jokes except when he passed. It's crazy and eye opening. Thank you, all of you, for deciding to take the risks and not skip visiting their country. And thank you Munir (if you somehow see this one day) for being an incredible guide and translator for them.
