  • Le Château du Clos Lucé is situated just 400 metres from the Royal Castle of Amboise in the Loire Valley in France. It’s where Leonardo da Vinci lived and worked for the last few years of his life. These rooms formed part of his actual workshop! Of course, they have been restored, but they do give a vivid idea of what an artist’s studio would have looked like in the sixteenth century. Right up until his death on 2 May 1519, Leonardo da Vinci worked on important commissions in this very space.
