karina saying "i went for a more classical composition" while destielconfession's spreadeagled presentation forms in front of us has such potent energy to it
"I was trying to go with a pretty symmetrical composition here, to evoke kind of a more classical looking image and feeling," -Karina, while drawing the widely spread legs of her anthropomorphic Neopet
"Don't kill off the part of you that is cringey. Kill off the part of you that cringes." edit: OMG, I typed this before I finished the video, I can't believe the third art piece also had this quote!
The things people assume to be cringe is just being marginalized, enjoying atypical things, and then being mocked for it; actual cringe is being close-minded and hateful towards divergence. Unhinged fandom madness that makes no sense but doesn't really harm anyone? You do you, boo. Being discriminatory and vitriolic and using it to scam people out of their money? That's cringe.
I remember Karina mentioning how she couldn't figure out painting digitally. So seeing her popping off sculpting and drawing traditionally so she can get the textures she likes is actually smart powerful and girlboss of her. Kill the part of you that cringes

The initial statement of Karina saying "the first piece, the theme was girls. I like girls." In response to the prompt of things she liked as a kid is very relatable. I too was a kid who liked girls, thank you Karina 😂

I think Julia talking about how she could never make something like this is really interesting because of the fact that this sort of style fundamentally requires a LOT of knowledge on how DeviantArt/early 2000's internet culture works that's extremely hard to replicate unless you were actually a part of it. Like, this sort of compositional knowledge isn't something that can really be taught in the same way as something like shading or lineart, and the fact that it's almost intrinsic to her like "Well, of course the mixed media collage needs song lyrics" makes this all the more impressive Genuinely really cool to see the rock lee weights come off like this. Also, the fact that she found a way to essentially weaponize her cringe to make her art even more authentic is phenomenal and, again, not something a lot of people are really capable of
I feel like that encompasses a part of "art style development" that is genuinely difficult to explain which is the development of your own personal aesthetic tastes based on the enrichment you recieve Like, it becomes such a fundamental thing that you never think twice about. Attempting to explain to you how I arrived at the thing that I did would be like trying to explain every impulse I've ever had. Its just your essence now, and you cannot rationalize essence.

I think just about every episode that I have bookmarked has Karina being possessed by the spirit of the internet and then just letting it free. I envy the madness they bring to the table on a regular basis
Karina, through pained laughter, while her neopet’s legs are spread on screen: “I tried to evoke religious imagery” I’m gonna be thinking about this for a long time.
so, this has to be my fav episode, not because it is funny, but, because it is moving, it's motavanional, it actaully helps with my depression, and not just in the escapeism way, it just is the oppsite of my state of mind that makes me depressed. it just screams "Nothing matters, just have fun with it", you somehow mangued to boil down the last two years of learning and seeing how far I have left to go into 30 mins. This is what the next checkpoint of my life is. Karina, thank you for just being you.
As a kid I really love the cartoon "Tom und das Erdbeermarmeladebrot mit Honig” (Tom and the strawberry-jam sandwich with honey), wherein Tom starts off each episode on a quest to assemble the eponymous sandwich. As an adult, I realised how much this show is about contentment: not once (as far as I’m aware) does Tom eat a whole sandwich; he either shares it with the friends who helped him get or doesn’t eat anything at all, and still he ends each day being “wishless and happy” (wunschlos glücklich). It’s not the object of your desire that makes you happy, but the journey to get it, and doing it with the people you love. Also, the Strawberrymouse and her Crocodile are an adorable power-couple. (The show is only available in German, but the dialogues are depicted in pictograms in speechbaloons, so if you want to, you could check it out).
I haven't thought about this show in years! There were also little "choose Tom's story" minigames about the episodes online and I was obsessed with those as a child.
Sometimes it's just the breakup of the monotony of drawing yes it's fun to draw, but sometimes breaking it up just further helps the creativity aspect. It's the same thing for learning something new yes it might be more complex, but it's funner that way :)
Pieces like this makes me remember they are whole ass artist and not just shitposters and meme lords, they definitely do art for a living, amazing Karina, it's beautifully executed
The fact that I knew it was America from the first side of his glasses... That being said, these were absolutely insane and I really wanna see the others try collages! EDIT: Karina painting to clown music at the end is everything 😭
I thought it was victor from yuri on ice and then I realized it's america bc of the glasses 😭 man I was obsessed with both fandoms back in middle school...
Episode idea: One artist draws something and the other 3 render it. Each in their own style, So there's 3 different renders of the same original sketch.
The fact that this video isn't more widely watched is a travesty because it's like, top 10 of all time for me. It's so genuine and sweet and full of gorgeous art.
I had a weird, complex relationship with for fun art throughout school because I wasn’t on the parts of the internet which had fanart in high school and then in college and grad school nearly all my art was costume renderings for classes or productions and after school it’s still been costume renderings all the way down. 2020, and working remotely forcing me to work digitally for the first time ever with a newly bought Apple Pencil and procreate and absolute panic opened me to a lot of freedom in making art for fun and not for profit. Karina’s joy in mixed media and creating homages to what she loves is entirely inspiring, and I wish I’d been exposed to art and artists like this when I was in high school and early college. It’s good to see.
As a kid I was also obsessed with the 101 Dalmatians, to the point where I had all 101 of them as imaginary friends. Holding the door open for them took a while....
Karina is so dang talented and I love how she just owns her "cringe" These types of 3 panels 1 artist episodes seem really cool! I'd like to see more of them if they aren't too difficult on the artist doing them
I get so caught up in art needing to be polished and proper and consumable that the idea of making intentionally cringe-inspired genuine fanart is such a liberating idea. That you for this chaotic gift 🙏 Edit: I FORGOT ABOUT THE POST CREDITS SCENE AND NEARLY CACKLED AT WORK
THE GRAVITATION RABBIT AAAAAA and Hetalia America my god I feel called out plus the mixed media.... Karina is so talented and relatable bless this episode
Drawing suggestion: draw each other into an isekai. Example- Nathan is king of dinosaurs in a prehistoric world; Karina uses a Digimon deck in a YuGiOh-esque dimension; Julia is a Drawtective in an isekai full of vampires; and Jacob is the leader of a bunch of little guys rebelling against hot villains.
Consider settings which are a little more... fish out of water? Or maybe a swap of sorts? Karina ends up near dinosaurs, Julia in a YuGiOh-esque dimension & Nathan with ze vampires. Oh. I've forgotten Jacob. Somehow... the rebellion of little guys, really fits. Additional kudos!
Amazed that Karina wanted to do a collage, and then it was suggested that instead she do three categorised drawings, so instead she did THREE collages. Wild. Incredible. I'm in awe.
i’ve been watching drawfee since at least 6th grade and now i’m starting college in the fall and one of the reasons that i’ve watched and loved drawfee so much all these years and looked up to all four of y’all as artists, because you can churn out amazing pieces week after week but you’re still artists and just like me and y’all sometimes go, “eh idk, i just fucked around” or “i don’t like how this came out but it’s done” just like me, and it makes me feel like i can accomplish anything i want because every artist feels that way no matter their skill level- y’all are so important to me
Karina keeps working extra time these days! So many solo work, we love to see it. And GOD MIXED MEDIA REIGNS SUPREME!!! I love seeing the new ideas the team is bringing, in episode formats, mediums, streams, and all around creativity. Also, half of drawfee has done digital... Nathan and Jacob better keep up
I’m just desperately hoping one of these is someone’s first drawfee video, because I feel like that would be so confusing to see pop up and knowing that’s possible is very funny to me
Honestly watching the different Tom faces was a work of art in and of itself, if this was ever displayed in a museum I'd want it to be playing on a ten second loop
The current Drawfee vibe, to me, is like Drawfee Variety Hour mixed with drunk girl at the bar who becomes the ultimate hype man and I am so absolutely here for it.
All these pieces are so good but the cringe one is so incredibly powerful... imagine Castiel, crying, staring at you from your dining room every day (also I love this this multimedia era!!!)
Karina really out here reminding a bunch of tired/sad millennials to get back in touch with what we loved as kids, and the unique joy of being able to create something for your younger self. also, I LOVE the one artist, three pieces format. I liked the one person speed draws, but they felt so short - this is really the perfect solution. I especially enjoy the mixed media thrown in
I'm back on Tumblr and this is the first Drawfee episode after and I can't help but take it as a sign to continue what I'm doing cringe for life honestly
I love it when Karina and Julia go full crazed art mode! Hope we get to see Nathan and Jacob let the art muse poses their bodies and go full crazed art mode one day XD
This video unearthed my forgotten era of 100 Dalmations obsession, where I wrote in new lore and characters and had a favourite puppy from one of the tv shows (?). And cherished a 100 Dalmation figurine I once got from Mac Donalds. Thanks for that Karina, good times.
All the art in this episode gives off such a dreamcore/weirdcore vibe and I'm living for it! I love all the mixed media stuff they've been doing recently and this is just sooo good
holy shit, the render and colors on the first drawing already were so good and then Karina just popped off and unleashed this explosion of creativity. incredible.
I have never felt so compassionately understood yet violently called out in Karina pointedly not naming "that rabbit". Like reaching into my soul to grab my inner teenager and giving them a thumbs up.
I was going to hit y'all up like "hey do you have the full rez for prints" and bless Karina for making them poster sized and available on patreon THANK YOU
This episode makes me want to say olde timey gasps. Like, "oh my stars and garters", and " knock me over with a feather." Karina, you've again done something amazing and thank you for doing it on the internet so we can all see it!
This is the perfect example of why having friends in your field are so important. I feel like the drawfee crew have all been indirectly causing growth that they would never have gotten alone.
Karina's, "Fuck it, we ball." mentality is so inspiring. I'm also so happy Tom and Jerry is in this episode. It's literally my entire childhood and seeing that cheese wedge Jerry gave me so much genuine joy
time for my twice weekly routine of laying in bed on my phone, getting a drawfee notification, realising its 3am, putting the episode on and getting instantly sleepy, falling asleep 5 mins into the episode and then waking up and watching it all again
In high school and college, I was really into traditional cell based animation (though I rarely actually did any animation), and on my days off of work/school, I'd play my favorite animated movies (incl. _101 Dalmatians_ ) over and over again, going as far as to play portions of it frame by frame to appreciate the process and pick out little fill errors in individual frames. 101-Dalmatians-Karina, I see you!
I'm here for any and all speed-draws/experiments where you get the time to do something you enjoy. And I love speed-draws that show pieces of the process of a total piece of art.

That transition from digital to plasticine was the exact 'taking off a bit of weight isn't gonna change anyth-' KABOOM scene

@@ItsAsparageese They've done this, sort of. They put random characters over famous paintings.
@@Grant-dx3qt Thanks, I'll look that one up! Now that I think about it, it does sound kinda familiar lol
As a fellow former 101 Dalmatians girl, I am needlessly pleased that Karina chose Patch to represent them. He was ✨my boy✨ as a kid
KARINA has POPPED OFF!! unhinged, beautiful, so powerful! I am in love with the energy of all three pieces, im in awe. crying pissing shiting and humming.
absolutely living for the mixed media pieces we've been getting recently
It feels like Julia and Karina are subtly one-upping eachother, and unlike famed documentary Alien vs Predator, whoever wins, _we win_
Karina busting out a Julia level art flex is always fun to see. 'I just kind of did this yesterday.'
this unlocks a part of my artist brain that makes me want to retreat into a cave and draw manically for 80 hours straight while only eating sliced fruit
this is so specific and yet so true
Man, I kinda want to do a piece now too, unfortunately my brain is stuck in "from observation practice your basics" because I'm working on tying up a college portfolio and- surprise, surpirse- I've put off my from observation because I don't enjoy it as much
the feral, unhinged self-indulgence of these pieces of literal art are truly amazing. inspirational, even. WHERE IS KARINA'S EMMY?!?!!!
As someone with enough anxiety that any pleasure is a guilty pleasure, this is very inspiring to me
Karina went absolutely mad with this one and I love it.
I think just about every episode that I have bookmarked has Karina being possessed by the spirit of the internet and then just letting it free. I envy the madness they bring to the table on a regular basis
Side note, I DO actually want that cringe one as a poster XD
@@TomNCatz same it's strangely beautiful
Karina, through pained laughter, while her neopet’s legs are spread on screen: “I tried to evoke religious imagery”
I’m gonna be thinking about this for a long time.
Karina evoking the Song of Solomon
so, this has to be my fav episode, not because it is funny, but, because it is moving, it's motavanional, it actaully helps with my depression, and not just in the escapeism way, it just is the oppsite of my state of mind that makes me depressed. it just screams "Nothing matters, just have fun with it", you somehow mangued to boil down the last two years of learning and seeing how far I have left to go into 30 mins.
This feels like that time julia learned blender. I just dont understand how this is easier.
Sometimes it's just the breakup of the monotony of drawing yes it's fun to draw, but sometimes breaking it up just further helps the creativity aspect. It's the same thing for learning something new yes it might be more complex, but it's funner that way :)
My reaction was “Karina, is that Real Life?”
Sometimes it's easier for the brain to do things in a way that seems a lot more convoluted
@@Cheerwine091 Lmao i thought the exact same thing
As a person who can barely read in silence, sometimes weird things work for different people. Everyone have their own little quirks
Pieces like this makes me remember they are whole ass artist and not just shitposters and meme lords, they definitely do art for a living, amazing Karina, it's beautifully executed
It's so weird. I'm not used to any of their new portrait drawings... except Nathan's.
He's just... he's just himself
I adore Julia's, I hope she gets am even weirder one next year ❤
I like them all. It's weird for me (I'm relatively new to their channel) not seeing Julia's face split in half and one half being weird.
I'm not a fan of Jacob's portrait mostly because the face looks weird to me.
i like jacobs bc it looks like a monkey
@@mythical_phoenixI liked Jacob's more before he rendered. Mostly because it's colored top differently from the others so it doesn't fit as well
The fact that I knew it was America from the first side of his glasses...
I was horrified at how quickly I realized who it was
The struggle to mix brown from whatever random acrylic paints you have on hand is so relatable though
That music is the perfect representation
karina's clay dolls would fit seamlessly into an analog horror game and i adore them so much. cutie pies tbh
It reminded me a lot of the mixed media approach in Hylics, I really think Jacob and Karina would love that game.
@@governor_explosion i wanna watch a hylics gameplay sooo bad bc every image i seen of it is all i need in life but i keep procrastinatinggg
@@bandidocavalierI watched my sister play a bit a Holida and it’s definitely got a cool art style
Episode idea:
One artist draws something and the other 3 render it.
Each in their own style, So there's 3 different renders of the same original sketch.
+
+2
This is an amazing idea
+3
i think one person rendering three different pieces might be a better episode. they may have already done that now that i think about it
I feel like that last piece was something i wasn't supposed to see but Karina is an absolute gigalord of confidence for showing us
Anyone who owns their cringe with as much swag as Karina -- enough to use it as fodder for her career-- is a powerful force indeed.
Okay but the "kill the part of you that cringes" piece actually goes so hard as a metamodern art piece-both self-aware and sincere.
The fact that this video isn't more widely watched is a travesty because it's like, top 10 of all time for me. It's so genuine and sweet and full of gorgeous art.
15:25 julias "totally cube-ular" is something im gonna end up quoting daily its so unnecessarily hilarious
I’m only a third of the way into the video, but this whole episode feels like a showcase of how explosively creative and talented Karina is.
Karina has straight up ascended. Fantastic. No revisions needed. These are just perfect.
Karina continues to absolutely kill it
And yes Julia is right, they should do the album cover idea
Karina is so dang talented and I love how she just owns her "cringe"
These types of 3 panels 1 artist episodes seem really cool! I'd like to see more of them if they aren't too difficult on the artist doing them
I get so caught up in art needing to be polished and proper and consumable that the idea of making intentionally cringe-inspired genuine fanart is such a liberating idea. That you for this chaotic gift 🙏
Edit: I FORGOT ABOUT THE POST CREDITS SCENE AND NEARLY CACKLED AT WORK
THE GRAVITATION RABBIT AAAAAA and Hetalia America my god I feel called out plus the mixed media.... Karina is so talented and relatable bless this episode
I can’t wait for Stack Of Clay Figures to be a returning character
Drawing suggestion: draw each other into an isekai. Example- Nathan is king of dinosaurs in a prehistoric world; Karina uses a Digimon deck in a YuGiOh-esque dimension; Julia is a Drawtective in an isekai full of vampires; and Jacob is the leader of a bunch of little guys rebelling against hot villains.
Kudos to you to keep commenting this, I’d really like to see it
I truly do appreciate this suggestion
Hopefully they see this
PLEASE
Consider settings which are a little more... fish out of water? Or maybe a swap of sorts? Karina ends up near dinosaurs, Julia in a YuGiOh-esque dimension & Nathan with ze vampires. Oh. I've forgotten Jacob. Somehow... the rebellion of little guys, really fits. Additional kudos!
Karina is the embodiment of the little goblin that sits on my shoulder, whispering chaotic platitudes in my ear, and I love it.
Amazed that Karina wanted to do a collage, and then it was suggested that instead she do three categorised drawings, so instead she did THREE collages. Wild. Incredible. I'm in awe.
Can’t believe Destiel confession has his whole biblicussy out in this one
i’ve been watching drawfee since at least 6th grade and now i’m starting college in the fall
and one of the reasons that i’ve watched and loved drawfee so much all these years and looked up to all four of y’all as artists, because you can churn out amazing pieces week after week but you’re still artists and just like me and y’all sometimes go, “eh idk, i just fucked around” or “i don’t like how this came out but it’s done” just like me, and it makes me feel like i can accomplish anything i want because every artist feels that way no matter their skill level- y’all are so important to me
Karina keeps working extra time these days! So many solo work, we love to see it. And GOD MIXED MEDIA REIGNS SUPREME!!! I love seeing the new ideas the team is bringing, in episode formats, mediums, streams, and all around creativity. Also, half of drawfee has done digital... Nathan and Jacob better keep up
for every video with these new portraits so far, every time julia pops up its so jarring😂 i love it
I’m just desperately hoping one of these is someone’s first drawfee video, because I feel like that would be so confusing to see pop up and knowing that’s possible is very funny to me
Honestly watching the different Tom faces was a work of art in and of itself, if this was ever displayed in a museum I'd want it to be playing on a ten second loop
Karina really out here taking a prompt and making the most poignant triptych of our modern age
The current Drawfee vibe, to me, is like Drawfee Variety Hour mixed with drunk girl at the bar who becomes the ultimate hype man and I am so absolutely here for it.
Karina's, "ripping out the armature" -- is a phrase likely to stay with me today.
As a stop-motion animator, that phrase brought back dozens of frustrating memories
Free the skeletons
The real drawfee was the armature we ripped out along the way
@@itisALWAYSR.A. perfect timing. The pause it gives me was just starting to wear off.
I cant believe Karina sculpted, cured my art block, and gave me amazing music recommendations in the SAME episode how did she do this it's amazing
KESHA'S NEW ALBUM IS SOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOD
All these pieces are so good but the cringe one is so incredibly powerful... imagine Castiel, crying, staring at you from your dining room every day (also I love this this multimedia era!!!)
Karina really out here reminding a bunch of tired/sad millennials to get back in touch with what we loved as kids, and the unique joy of being able to create something for your younger self.
also, I LOVE the one artist, three pieces format. I liked the one person speed draws, but they felt so short - this is really the perfect solution. I especially enjoy the mixed media thrown in
this was oddly inspirational. thank you drawfee i will embrace the way of "killing the part of you that cringes"
Seeing Karina draw America from Hetalia was truly something I didn't know I needed in life, thank you for this ❤
I'm back on Tumblr and this is the first Drawfee episode after and I can't help but take it as a sign to continue what I'm doing cringe for life honestly
embrace your inner cringy tumblrina! also its weird meeting tumblr people outside of tumblr
It's Karina's energy, she just draws us out of the dumpsterfire like nasty lil raccoons looking for scraps. She's one of ours @@shirisuchodolsky1376
Thanks for that Karina, good times.
this might be one of my fave episodes of Drawfee ever. Just one of the Drawfees POPPING off and going insane
What's the rabbit from?
I dug through the comments for this one. What is the rabbit? 😶
I want to know too
@@meotys6276 It's from Gravitation
@@DarkwaterSmidgethank you! i knew i recognized it but my brain absolutely could not pinpoint it
this ep is wildly underrated. i love seeing karina pop off
I am absolutely floored by every piece this is legitimately so masterful.
I was going to hit y'all up like "hey do you have the full rez for prints" and bless Karina for making them poster sized and available on patreon THANK YOU
That first piece somehow unintentionally captured the vapor wave aesthetic and nobody mentioned it lol
It's literally my entire childhood and seeing that cheese wedge Jerry gave me so much genuine joy
this entire episode was utterly feral and unhinged in the most entertaining way possible. thank u.
time for my twice weekly routine of laying in bed on my phone, getting a drawfee notification, realising its 3am, putting the episode on and getting instantly sleepy, falling asleep 5 mins into the episode and then waking up and watching it all again
this was so FASCINATINg and BEAUTIFUL. I love seeing these weird collages free from karina's soul and its deeply inspiring
the girls poster and the cringe poster….im SO obsessed like she is really the genius mind of our generation
