Builders don’t want to pay much and now work Is slow bc of the slow housing industry. I absolutely love trucking and I don’t see me doing much else. I hope things for out for you man! I have found over the years its best to find a few reliable brokers that have consistent loads and fair rates, keep them happy and they will keep feeding ya freight. Best one we use still made cuts this year but are still 50 - 80 cents a mile over the others that act like paying us $2 / mile is breaking their bank. Not sure how these guys make a dime hauling for rates like that. Getting in direct with a shipper is best. I see what they pay vs what brokers offer and it makes me sick. Hang in there brother. Keep your faith in Jesus and the rest will fall into place

I was hearing we're at rock bottom currently and should turn around soon or May at the latest. I'm not working for free while I put miles on my equipment so I'm waiting it out for now. The good thing is the owner-ops are getting fed up with how things are and are starting to boycott brokers and starting to play hardball to get a fair rate.
I got a 1998 W900 and I parked it. The fuel economy is garbage. You can make some money but not with that gas guzzler. My fuel bill for 6 weeks was $9000 plus.

I’ve been averaging 6.5-7 better than my aerodynamic t660 did with Cummins tho
