Thank you, thank you, thank you...my oven light has been broken almost 2 years. I have been waiting all this time for my sons or grandson to take it out. In less than 30 seconds, I took it out myself 😊 You do not know how good your DIY video has made me feel about myself and my ability to do something myself. 🙏 This old gal still has it.💋
Spent 30 minutes trying things that other videos showed. Watched your video as a last ditch effort. I got the broken base out in 6 seconds! You are a lifesaver! Thank you!!
OMG!!! Your video was a lifesaver. My son spent hours trying to get a lightbulb out from the top inside of our Jenn Air oven. We found your video and it took like 10 seconds to get it out!!! Your explanation and video is amazing! Thank you so very much!!!!
Your video was so helpful, I didn't even ask my husband to do it. I turned off the power, grabbed the needlenose pliers out of the toolbox, and it came right out. He was impressed with your hint and that I could do it myself. Thanks so much!
This video was a life saver! I have an old Jenn Air oven and was trying to replace the bulb, and the glass part of it came clean away from the metal base as I was unscrewing it. This trick worked like a charm to get the rest of it out of the socket!
I just got it out. It was a little tricky because the bulb was at the bottom of the microwave that is mounted above the stove. We had to use a mirror and flashlight to find the place for the needlenose plyers. Your video was extremely helpful. I never would have thought to do it that way. Thanks so much. -Racquel
Microwave bulb bases can be difficult. The heat from the stove loosens the bond between the bulb glass and the metal base so removing the microwave bulb is difficult. Glad to hear the video helped.
Any ideas on how to remove the metal part from the lighbulb fixture when you can't reach it? We have this issue with recessed lighting in our 2 story great room ceiling and we can't reach the light without using a pole. How can I get the metal part out? Thanks for any help.
Mine is too rusty.....Its been outside in the elements for a decade. I cant remove the base either. its been painted over to many times to get a grab on the screw. I'm thinking last resort here. Blow torch and remove the paint? Thoughts? Stucco house FYI so no fire hazard.
i know this video is old and you probably dont check it but i have a socket stuck in my ceiling lights above my stairs and cant use a ladder because of the stairs. any ideas??
Derek Linder just saw your post. Home Depot or Lowe’s makes a broken bulb extractor that mounts to an extension pole so you don’t have to get on a ladder.
Don't do that you have a 50 50 chance of bending stripping warping the grooves in permanent housing forcing new installation of light kit base. Don't do that. Think about it this isn't a steel housing ...
It’s just a simple way I’m demonstrating based on my personal knowledge and experience. I did mention to be careful and that if you grab the wrong part it will ruin the light. Thanks for reiterating that for me.

You saved me without getting food all over my electrical fixtures. Thanks for the post, bro
This method worked for me today on my stove light! First new bulb I put in didn't work. So I put in a second new one and it worked fine.
Your a star! Thank you so much! It worked. Tried the potato trick first which didn't work and just made a mess. Many thanks!
Thank you for a simple explanation with great visual!
Thanks so much - my first impulse was to use the needle nose pliers, but got talked out of it...until there was you.
Glad I could help. Have a great day!
simple and affective solution! thankz!!
That’s what I’m here for. Glad the video helped. Have a great day!
Use a wooden broom handle. Put in socket and unscrew. Broom handle fits socket perfectly.
Thanks for the tip.
Thank you, this was SO helpful!

Sounds like it’s time for a replacement.
yeah, and what happens when all the side just break off the base like it did for me using your method?? Now I have a worse situation on my hands
I am sorry it didn't work for you. You are the first person to express having trouble following these instructions.
Thanks
Thanks a lot bro!
