Thank you, Neil, I did not know any of that. Society has fallen a long way IMHO. No wonder people are stressed and playing out. Things that made life easier and bearable like please, thank you, letting a women go first, opening car doors, giving up seats for the elderly, pregnsnt or infirmed. Alas they are pretty much gone. To be replaced by rudeness, thoughtlessness, entitlement, no manners, wokeness, etc etc. We have indeed fallen a loooooon way. But hope springs eternal. Keep well, Neil.
DanaJankovic, I have been thinking about the same things you mentioned. It is a shame the way people behave now a days. There are no manners, decency, and kindness. No one smiles or says " hi " anymore. I say hi to everyone, I smiles, I give up my seat in the bus and subway. I asked older folks , at the grocery store, or park or road, if they need help. I help everyone. I am a people person. I would give someone in need , my last penny or food or anything I have and someone needs. I am not rich, but I like to share what I have. I learned that from my parents. They use to give the needy food, clothing and money. They use to feed the poor and needy every day. They would give their last penny to the needy. Mom use to cook lots of extra food. She use to invite beggers and the poor for a meal all the time. At Christmas, we used to fill up bags with clothes, food, towels, fruits and nuts, homemade fruit cakes, and black cake. And money. Which we use to hand out to the needy. My parents never, ever said any thing about their charitable work. Mom's favourite charity was SICK KIDS HOSPITAL. SHE USE TO send a cheque to the hospital every Christmas. Whatever little she had, she always shared. Thanks, mom and dad.❤
Could it be the way they were brought up? Twenty odd years ago the powers that be said we were not allowed to smack our children even just on the legs, we had to talk to them.😊
So sorry to hear about Timothy West’s passing, love the gentle and respectful way he was with his wife Prunella (and she with him) who was such a character on their long boat adventures. Such a delightful couple.
Yes, I was so saddened to hear he had passed away. He cared so much for Prunella he must have been devastated at realising he wouldn't be there to continue to look after her. 😢
Hey Neil, respect to you. Having met all these fabulous celebrities, not Wannabees but actual stars. Your knowledge of showbiz and famous folks is so factual and interesting.
Hi Neil 👋 No they wouldn't. I remember the show very well, it was such a brilliant show. They do not make shows like it these days. I don't blame the Royal family for loving it. Thank you Neil 😊 ❤
Hello Jean - I live in Mooresville, Iredell County, NC!!! I too love British TV and have been watching for many years! I can watch almost everything via the two free apps - Acorn and Brit Box! I’m just finishing up the Doc Martin series that I’ve watched years ago but never saw the final series! The mysteries, comedies, etc. are so wonderful! Keep warm!
Loved that programme Neil, and thank you, I will look it up on youtube. And no, none of the producers anywhere in the world would bother to make sure they weren't going to offend, but then that applies to anything these days, the younger generation couldn't care less who they hurt. 🇳🇿
respect has gone out the window it is a pity that the people have lost that because it is all me me me such a same you get more out of people when you respect them Neil your stories are lovely
What an amazing couple they truly were Neil, I in fact was just thinking about Timothy West & Prunella Scales, the love & adoration they had for each other & the way they really cared for one another & in that i mean from making a cup to filling a hot water bottle, from holding your hand to helping you in & out of the car, they deeply cared for one another.. Love so true & real cannot be fake, they were such a class act together, I loved their barging programmes they were really great in every way, thank you again, it's difficult to imagine one without the other, Your a true gem in every sense of the word Neil it would be so much easier to name those class acts you haven't met rather than the one's that you have met, much respect to your good self for all your very hard work you put in for us "Chums" over the past year & can I say the support i got from our "Chums" in what was a difficult & challenging year for me I had support from across the Globe & that would never have been the case without your wonderful self.. Thank you!! Neil Sean Thank You!! ❤❤
try & look up The Good Life. It’s a comedy from the 70’s, it’s fantastic. You’ll see Felicity Kendall in that & Annette Crosby was in One Foot in the Grave, another great comedy series & Timothy West died recently. He’s legendary & has been in thousands of things over the decades.
Neil 👋👋 It’s so clever to have your name on the dark globe. Brilliant idea.Thinking of my mum today and her heavenly passing day 20 years ago. I’m playing Andy Williams Christmas music in her memory. Cheers xx 😘
Hi Neil I love the The Canal journey that Timothy and Prunella went on together. It was so heartwarming the way he looked after her and talked to her when she had her dementia so sweet lovely man.❤❤
I remember watching Edward the seventh with Timothy West. Brilliant actor as are Annette Crosby and Felicity Kendal. Going to revisit to refresh my memory.
🇭🇲🦘👋 How interesting it is to know that courtesy was shown towards the royal family, before this wonderful period drama was ever given the go-ahead to hit the screens. Making sure that the Monarch was (and other members of the royal family were) totally behind it proceeding. With even the royal family looking forward to seeing further episodes. This was indeed a very thoughtful 'gesture' by the makers of this show, but a 'gesture' that I sadly doubt would be even considered, in this day and age. It costs nothing to show courtesy, respect and good manners; and it can get you a long way, if you DO show courtesy and use good manners. As happened with the makers of 'this' period drama, and with the 'thumbs up' 👍 (as it were) from the royal family, with it going ahead with great success, for all concerned. IF only MORE often due consideration, courtesy and basic manners, were more abundant these days; but sadly, it would appear - not. This was very well presented by you, and "Thank you" so much Neil xx 👔⭐👋 AND (by the way Neil) your manners are impeccable (excellent, and without fault) which makes me (and many others) very proud of you Neil, and proud to call you our chum and friend. Then again, I'd expect nothing less from the "gentleman" and the "gentle man" that you Are! I have praised you before Neil, but I haven't given you praise for a while. Which is quite remiss of me. So, I praise you again - now. With the greatest of respect and gratitude, and with love from Lyndell xo 💓🫂 Again "Thank you" Neil xx 👔⭐👋
Good morning my dear Lyndell, what wonderful words above, as always warm thoughtful and inspiring. Neil is indeed an impeccable perfect gentleman. I do hope you are feeling well and rested, you have been in my thoughts as always. A manic day yesterday, the dogs had a beautiful Christmas haircut, they look super duper and you can tell that they know they look great, they pose like mad!😂. It was so windy again and we had to wait a little in Holyhead, the waves were crashing into the Marina and some boats upended, breathtaking but scary to watch. When we got home Kasey and Bayley were skipping around like spring chickens, you would have laughed to see them, even the kitties joined in but they were only happy to see us because they wanted feeding!😂. I had a coffee in the afternoon with two friends in a beautiful Restaurant/Museum, so beautifully clean and sparkling and full of unique Christmas gifts plus many pictures and photos of years gone by, fascinating and a real treat. Obviously when I got back again everyone was queuing for food again, they never stop, what joy they are and so make me smile. Another Coffee morning today, the last of the season so should be great. Please take care, you are always in my thoughts and prayers my friend, always just a heartbeat away. My love and support and friendship is sent to you both from all the Entwistle clan. Hxx👋👋🙏💕🙏🏴❤️🌟🎄🐕🐕🫂🫂🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱
@heleneentwistle8050 "Good evening" dearest Helene. So lovely to read all your news too, and how wonderful 'our' 😉 two dogs (with their haircuts) must look, and to "pose" as you wrote, they obviously saying "look at us, we're beautiul" and they are (of course). As we love them both 😍 so much. They really are a treat, even from here in Australia. As I wrote "our" two dogs! 😂😁 I'm pleased that "the kitties" joined in the fun with Kasey and Bayley as well. Even if they were just after more food as well. I'm sure you will have a wondetful time at your coffee ☕ morning (with friends) today as well. I was up extra early today (as Hot here today) and cleaned and re-filled the bird baths again. With all of the native birds chirping in the trees neaby, and I'm sure that were sayng to me "hurry up", but that's okay, because I appreciate them calling our garden their home OR 'their' morning coffee stop (okay, water stop). 😉😂 Some live (and breed) in our garden, while others 'call in' now and then. Which is lovely. I then attended to some inside household chores (with the air-conditioning on) including doing some ironing. As Bob has to attend another funeral on this Monday afternoon, and needed a shirt ironed to wear with his suit and tie. I am not going with him (this time) as this was an old school friend of his (and friend of his sister's) who attended the same junior and senior school as both Bob and his sister (Margaret) did. We call his sister "Marg". Marg can't attend, as the funeral is here in Victoria, while Marg now lives in Brisbane, in Queensland. Although she used to live in Victoria. So Bob will be representing them both at the funeral. Showing their respects. There will be others there who he knows as well. Some old school friends and family members, and family friends. Anyway, I must go now. I also stilll, have 2 more videos of Neil's that I'd like to watch, so I might do that now. Please remember Helene, just keep being You, because You are perfect - just as you are! "God bless" 🙏 you all, with much love, from your friend, Lyndell xx 💓🫂💓🫂 💓🐕🐕 💓🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈 🎄👋👋
Argh God bless you Lyndell, you always warm my ❤and your words mean so much. I am so happy and proud to have you as my friend, my family will be your family always, Kasey and Bayley love their Aunt Lynnie. I certainly don't think I am perfect but I am honest and i care and you will forever be special to me. Take care and my love is sent to you both. Picture this I am squashed on one chair, Kasey on my lap, Bayley attached to my hip, what joy, they know I am writing to you 😂😂. Love always Hxx❤️❤️🏴🙏🙏🏴❤️🐕🐕🫂🫂
@@heleneentwistle8050 I pictured what you wrote Helene, so here is a message to my niece and nephew: "Please be very good today (Kasey and Bayley) because your mum is writing to me about ALL that you do. So, I'm watching you both 🐕🐕👀 closely from very far away! with love from your Auntie Lynnie 💓🐕💓🐕 " Now that should do it Helene! 😉 LOL 😂 I know I'm a nut 🥜 but I am otherwise quite harmless. Honest! love from Lyndell xo 💓🫂
You had respect in those days. Something that has disappeared now. There's NO courtesy nowadays. So sad that people have no empathy for others. Theyvare only out for themsalves and are ruled by money and egoes.
👋👋 Wow Neil, I just loved this fascinating story, a triumph of stardust memories like no other, you are the best. Timothy West was brilliant in the iconic Edward VII, I loved it as I do Felicity Kendall, you looked your very handsome best with her Neil, you haven't changed a bit. I agree respect, courtesy and manners are sadly lacking today, but you bring them in spades. Thank you Neil, just perfect. Take care. Hxx👋👋🙏🙏🏴❤️🌟🎄
Wonderful story, Neil! Thank you yet again! And included is a golden tip for some winter evening TH-cam watching...and thank you for that, too. Merry Christmas to you and to all our chums.
Good morning Neil 👋🏻 Thank you for this wonderful blast from the past, Edward VII I loved it 🤩 Timothy West a fabulous actor 🥰 I agree respect has gone 😢 A couple of days ago you said "hapted up" I've not heard that for a long time 👍🏻 Have a wonderful day Neil stay safe ❤
I met Prunella Scales at the Nottingham Playhouse, and she was very gracious. I have to admit to never having watched this series in the 70s, but I think that’s because my career was headlining along; but I will make a point of seeking it out now, thanks to your reporting Neil ❤
Hi Neil, thank u for another wonderful historical video. I learn so much from them. You are just marvelous to listen to. It is truly sad that there is no such thing as respect any more. 🇺🇸 🕯 🇬🇧 ❤ 🎄 ⛄
Can’t we just wait for the facts and truth? Ignore the rumors, drama, speculations, etc, that does no one any good😢 Just wait for Neil to tell us what is what🥰.
Neil… I have a question… what happens when the person issuing the royal warrant dies? Do they still have it displayed? If not, where is stored? I have the video EDWARD VII my first in my collection. I loved it.
Pbs over here did a show about then Prince Charles it was awful. It portrait the then Prince as someone who Rejoiced when his mother the now late Queen passed. This was done while she was very much alive. They aired one episode then canned it as it was appalling even for us Americans.
I have never heard of this series but I plan on watching it after Christmas. Thanks for the recommendation, Neil! Merry Christmas to you and all the chums. 🎄
Neil i remember it well and as you said it was brilliant as was another programme Tinker, Taylor, Soldier, Spy. I think that each episode was shown was shown twice, Sunday and Thursday. At the time I was stationed at RAF West Drayton and when on night shift, if it was a quiet night, I would take in my portable TV and the whole shift would watch it. Of course an Air Traffic Controller and Assistant would be designated to watch the skies just incase a military aircraft needed our services but at least we could watch the repeat. Happy Days. ❤
Hi Neil, my husband and I both loved the series on Edward VII ; it was brilliantly done. Imagine our surprise, a few years later, on walking into an exhibition on King Edward, here in Adelaide, to literally run into Timothy West, right in front of the King’s portrait, It was such a memorable occasion for us. Apparently his wife, Prunella Scales, was appearing in a play at our Festival Theatre and he had accompanied her over here. A very happy coincidence .
Prunella Scales was also in the film 'Hobson's choice', that was a good film. Wasn't Timothy West in the comedy series 'Where's there's muck, there's brass', in the early 1970's? I'm not sure which channel it was on.
I so enjoyed Edward the King when it was shown on PBS here in the United States and have watched it several times on TH-cam. It’s amazing to think that the present “Siegfried Farnon” on the new edition of “All Creatures Great and Small”, Samuel West , was a small boy portraying one of the young sons of the then Prince of Wales! Was he Prince Albert Victor,Prince Eddy or was he Prince George, later King George V? I don’t recall. Perhaps, it’s time to watch it again!
Fascinating story. Given the amount of TV and film today the Royal Family would have to set up a full time department if they were to vet every film or TV series written about them. I agree with the idea that respect has fallen, not just for them but for everything in our society. Some of it is not that bad though. Imagine it not being respectable to moan about the government. We'd have to go back to moaning about the weather...😂
We avoid today’s historically inaccurate woke dramas by rewatching classic series such as this. It is based upon the biography of Edward by Philip Magnus, one of our most distinguished historians.
Yes commonn. Decency. Has more or less. All gone. But. Where did it start. You may ask. I will tell you. THE. PARENTS. you learn. From a very early. Age. The thing. That. Help them when they enter the world of grown ups. And into. There. Professions. What ever. It is. Simple things like plead and thsnk you. When you give your child. Anything. Ect but nowadays. And I see it. In the majority. Of kids. They have no manners at all. They have to be told if they get ba present. Ect. Say thsnk you. They should not. Have to be told. They sit with there. Phones in fron5bof them Shen you talk you get a grunt. On transport GHEY dont getgjp to offer there seat to somebody frail. Or a lregnznypt woman. In shops you can hardy. Get a civil word outbof some of them. Don’t get me wrong there are a lot of nice mannered kids out there. But theignorsnt ones hie them a bad name. Also. All this crap. Woke. Nonsense. Even the teachers. Act like one of them. To Blend. In be one of the crowd. They think it makes them popular. They also. Ned. To be. Stopped. The kids are.there to learn. Not be one of there pals. But it all starts. With the parents. Sorry. If you don’t like it. But the old saying. GIVE ME A CHILD. TO SEVEN.
That's fascinating Neil....and wonderful too. Consideration and Respect, like Common Sense, are relics of the recent past I'm afraid. And in this ridiculous world of 'woke' I can't see it returning anytime soon! Thank you for this, it brightened my day.
I have never seen this series about Edward VII starring Timothy West will have to try and watch it . Lovely to see the respect shown to her Majesty by the makers of it.🐨🇦🇺🦘
Manners and courtesy have sadly disappeared from our world.

Love these stories. They should still have to get the Royals approval. It is just respectful.
Hi Neil ,thank you for another fascinating story , sadly showing even a bit of RESPECT is gone.👋👋👋🇦🇺🇦🇺
I don't believe any TV company or media outlet has any respect for anyone these days.
You are still as handsome as you were back then, always laughing and enjoying your job, and what an awesome job. 🌷👋
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

I love Felicity Kendal! My favorite was Rosemary and Thyme🇺🇸
I love a good period mini-series. I've never seen this one, but I'm going to now!
Me too
I remember watching this programme. It was not only fascinating it was superbly acted.
That series Edward VII is one of my favorites.......And I agree with you Timothy West was indeed a great actor.

I live in North West NC USA. I love your post. I watch British TV all the time. Y'all have great movies and TV shows.
not anymore. Channel 5 do some good stuff but the BBC & ITV are insufferably woke 😢😔. The older stuff is brilliant though.

Wonderful story, Neil! Thank you yet again! And included is a golden tip for some winter evening TH-cam watching...and thank you for that, too. Merry Christmas to you and to all our chums.
Good morning Neil 👋🏻 Thank you for this wonderful blast from the past, Edward VII
I loved it 🤩 Timothy West a fabulous actor 🥰
I agree respect has gone 😢
A couple of days ago you said "hapted up" I've not heard that for a long time 👍🏻
Have a wonderful day Neil stay safe ❤
I met Prunella Scales at the Nottingham Playhouse, and she was very gracious.
I have to admit to never having watched this series in the 70s, but I think that’s because my career was headlining along; but I will make a point of seeking it out now, thanks to your reporting Neil ❤
Good evening Neil love from Canada 👋🎄🇨🇦
I never saw Timothy West playing Edward 7th in that series . I will have to check it out . Big wave 👋
Edward VII 😂
@judithmorganjudyteen pardon . I have never seen either of the 70s series about King Edward 7th or the 8th . Big Wave 👋
Good Evening Neil 🎄🇺🇲🎄👋🎄🤚🎄👋🎄❤️🎄❤️🎄
Hi Neil, thank u for another wonderful historical video. I learn so much from them. You are just marvelous to listen to. It is truly sad that there is no such thing as respect any more. 🇺🇸 🕯 🇬🇧 ❤ 🎄 ⛄
Great item, Neil.
I've never seen it, but i love the royal family, so I'll have a look at
Very interesting story.
Can’t we just wait for the facts and truth? Ignore the rumors, drama, speculations, etc, that does no one any good😢 Just wait for Neil to tell us what is what🥰.
Good day Neil😊
Neil… I have a question… what happens when the person issuing the royal warrant dies? Do they still have it displayed? If not, where is stored? I have the video EDWARD VII my first in my collection. I loved it.
I remember the series about Edward VII. It was on PBS and based on two books about him. I loved it and loved Edward VII!
Pbs over here did a show about then Prince Charles it was awful. It portrait the then Prince as someone who
Rejoiced when his mother the now late Queen passed. This was done while she was very much alive. They aired one episode then canned it as it was appalling even for us Americans.
There was more respect of the RF 50 years ago!
Happy Days. ❤
Very interesting!
I saw this! Interesting series. Would like to see it again
Wish theh put that Drama on again good actors and actresses
Never got to see it-but in the early 70's-I loved the show about Henry VIII and his six wives-staring an Aussie-the late Keith Michell.
Manners, courtesy, respect, humility, and doing the right thing, are the underpinning which keep human’s baser nature in it’s place.
Oh how you go to extreme to avoid Andrew and Fergie. No worries, more and more is coming out of his evil! Can’t cover the truth

Look at that moon. Wow
QUEEN CONSORT!
And the style of every King's wife (aka consort) is HM The Queen.
Camilla was ok with talking about her relationship to Alice Keple as per her proposition talk to Charles, back in the day.😊
Hi
Not sure how they are related, but one of the quiz masters on Egg Heads Judith Keppel is related to Camilla...
We avoid today’s historically inaccurate woke dramas by rewatching classic series such as this. It is based upon the biography of Edward by Philip Magnus, one of our most distinguished historians.

Our feeble monarchy has declined to irrelevance.
Ditto, our culture!
WONDERFUL STORY NEIL
