My Mother had that tea caddy in our house when I was a young girl in London. It has young Princess Elizabeth on one side, Princess Margaret, the Queen (mother) and the King all around the tin if I remember correctly. Brought back happy memories. Thank you

Just burn a candle by the cutting board, it will burn the onion fumes. Washing in cold water, is also very good. I love the way your presented your day, so lovely and relaxing to watch you.
Oh I rub it with a cut lemon 🍋 but we have a tree so this is easy

Hello my Sweet Friends, It's so good to see y'all. It seems like forever and a day since I actually texted. I have enjoyed your video right before the Shepherds Pie was made. The trip was one of my favorites! I wish I could remember the name of the town but it was absolutely just the way I picture all English towns and the way should look! Your Christmas decorations are so lovely and warm. We put so much in placing them in just the right place. I have a hard time removing them after Christmas is over! Getting back to your videos I miss not seeing them so much and it dosen't matter if I've seen them once I can watch them again! I look forward to seeing the next one. Be well and safe my dear friends. My regrets for your dear and beloved Queen. She will be sorely missed by many here in the 🇺🇸 and around the 🌎!

The Queen's Gambit was a delightful surprise. Like you, I wasn't as enthralled with season 4 The Crown, particularly the segment about the man breaking into the queen's bedroom. It was background on the tough times and went into more of that than the royals. Your Sunday ritual is lovely. You lead a sensible and good life as a couple. Walks together, reading, decorating, shopping, you enjoy it all together.
Thanks so much! We now even think The Crown should stop as this season was so bad, Gillian Anderson as Margaret Thatcher was a joke, we almost stopped watching.
I didn't like season 4 of The Crown either because it was so much weaker than the other three. It's not due to the
background on tough times. Shouldn't the economy have some impact on the royals?
Anyway, this was a great video. Loved the table setting, the recipes, and the outdoor scenes are beautiful!
It's hard to say how much I love these places outside in England. I miss them so much as I live in the other side of the planet.

We have two grown children living overseas with their families. Whenever they come "home" they always request shepherd's pie or bangers 'n mash! Can't beat either. Yours looked great.

I watched The Queen’s Gambit and The Crown, season 4 and really enjoyed both very much! I really love Joerg’s honest reactions! Not just when he pulled the shepherds pie from the oven, but in many cases over the last year that I’ve watched, he truly has a deep sense of fun!

Hello Kirsten and Joerg! A trick that works is to turn on the stove top and stay close to the heat as you cut onion and lean over the heat every now and then when you feel the tears coming… it really works! I enjoy your videos very much, you’re both lovely!!

Loved spending your cozy Sunday with y’all. We were stationed in New London CT during the 1980, whilst there we restored a 1893 Victorian house. It was smallish, it took us 7 years to complete and then my husband retired and we moved. I know exactly what Joerg meant when he said you’d never finish!
We finished! But then we had to move! We’ve been watching The Crown, season 4, and I have to agree, Gillian Anderson as Margaret Thatcher was awful, seems she was quire a miserable woman.

Those eggs looked incredible. I read that the darker the yolk the better the egg. Is that true? Thank you for sharing your Sunday with me.
The color of the yolk depends on what the chicken is fed. The darker the color, the healthier feed the bird has eaten. Told to me by the Secretary of Agriculture of Minnesota on a Canadian fishing trip. I noticed the eggs in Canada (at the time) had beautiful dark orange yolks.
@@anniegolden1304 We found the orange yolks in Italy too. To us in the USA, those orange yolks looked suspicious, since we are so used to bright yellow ones.
Also of note: in both Kirsten and Joerg's videos as well as a youtube channel I watch called "Different Russia" eggs come in cartons of 10. In the US it is 12, by the dozen. Or 18 for larger boxes.
I think it is, I only buy eggs from pasture fed chickens. I try and get them from a farm close to where I live. The yolks are very dark orange and the shells are much thinner.
Hi I have kept hens for over 15 years. Naturally outdoor kept hens with good food greens and corn fed lay the best eggs. Maran hens also lay chocolate brown eggs, I used to have four and I read, that the best French chefs don't like using any other types off eggs. Also eggs are usually a week plus old before they even reach the shops. Nothing like a fresh egg x

I made some Shepherd's Pie out of left Christmas dinner where the meat was leftover turkey meat, mash white potatoes and Yams and peas. Turned out great! My mom and I loved it!

Shepherd’s Pie looked delicious. You can never go wrong cooking in cast iron and it’s healthy to cook with it too. Here in the U,S.I use our cast iron pots and pans nearly every day. I’ve been playing parts of your videos about Germany and German food to my husband. He was born in Heidelberg and his mother was born in Mannheim. He loves the German breads too and the sausages. We went to Christmas Markets several years ago and he went wild over the bread and sausages. Nearly every morning we would eat hard rolls with Bratwurst and mustard for breakfast! I got to liking it too. A huge change for me.

When I was newly married someone told me to hold a match in my mouth, later on someone told me that works only because you have to keep your mouth closed around the match. I now just keep my mouth closed (I tell my husband "I'm going to be cutting some onions so if I don't answer you, please don't think I'm mad at you!"). It really works for me!

Those Burford Browns looked gorgeous!!! We love Shepard’s pie in our house as well. Currently we are reading All Creatures Great and Small. We because my husband likes when I read aloud. (I think my voice sounds ridiculous so I’ve no idea why he likes it🤣)
They are such good eggs and the colour so different to 'regular' eggs. So loved All Creatures Great & Small as a child.

(not sure about the correct spelling) but I can say I've never seen such a lovelier couple cooking together. I know the dishes were wonderful. Oh by the way Kristen have a special magazine you might enjoy Victoria. It's a lovely magazine. I've read Country Living for years. I certainly enjoyed both. I'm in to Novels now. Yes though in Jamie Oliver's book he uses veal mince and still calls it a Shepherd's Pie lol. Let's just call it pie then.

I love going on a walk with you both. I live in the city in Southern California. It’s warm most of the time as in wearing shorts warm. Where you live it’s so green and beautiful. Well, in the Jamie Oliver cookbook his Shepherd's Pie is made with veal mince not lamb mince and still called Shepherd's Pie lol.
