It never made sense to me why Luigi fell to his knees. Him falling and accepting his decisions in regret makes it a lot more sensible.
Either that or due to his body being damaged he ran out of energy to continue the battle

The "just do it" part is crazy
While this cover is significantly out of character for IHY Luigi, it is much better than the version of him from the original story. Had you stuck with the source material, Luigi would have been bitter to the end, as in another great lyrical cover of this song.
In this version, it does two things right, outside of Luigi's posthumous heel-face turn and him coming to it by finally talking out his stress, instead of letting it control him as in Oh God No.
1. While Luigi got on his knees in the original to express defeat, and maybe asking for forgiveness (too little, too late) after how badly Mario and Boyfriend beat him... Here, since he has legitimately realized his mistake, now him bowing to his knees is shown as him asking for Boyfriend to put him out of his misery. Otherwise, he'd probably be in eternal pain as a living corpse, full of regret and no way to make it up to Mario, anymore.
2. Alongside this change, I'm glad you cut away from Boyfriend flipping off Luigi, after Luigi is tossed into the lava. It's only appropriate in its original context, and not this reinterpretation, after all.
