    I appreciated episode six so much. Death really put things into perspective. Kirby Howell-Baptiste nailed it.

    I rewatched this ep many times, yet each time I cried at Sam's and the baby's deaths. The fact that Sam wasn't even concerned about his life-he just cared about not making his wife's life difficult once he passed.

    • @Creasy5678
      @Creasy5678 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      This is even sadder when you realise this means Sam only ever wanted to be the best husband and father he could be for his family. His first and last thoughts were always about them, to the point, even knowing he was dead, he was desperate for them to be provided for after he was gone, no matter what.
      The baby is even sadder. Sometimes, that's all you get. Fortunately, she is always there to take your hand and be kind with a smile at the End.

    I watched that episode and honestly I think the hardest thing to watch is her (Death) taking a baby that is no more than a few months old away. And just imagining the mother's reaction coming back and seeing her child is no longer alive, that hurts and if will always get to me. To be honest I think the worst part of dying is not being there for that person just so they are not alone.

    I don’t know what’s for me next I know my life wasn’t lived to the fullest it’s ok I am sick with cancer. It’s ok to fight til the end and not make it. All I hope is that my girl knows how much I love her and that when my time does come . That a kind face and soft words will lead me to whatever is next.

    People need to realize that Death is a transition, a state of being. Not a being to bargain, bribe or threaten. I say this knowing my parents and grandparents are in the next world to greet and waiting for me. Nothing to fear. We come in this world, due our time and part. Then we are gone until the next life begins and redo it again.

      We shouldn't fear of death as we do not fear of birth. Why people afraid of dying when they are not afraid of their birth.

    In appearance, very different from the comics, but in personality, fashion, and heart, she was perfectly cast and that matters much more when it comes to amorphous beings.

    I've faced death directly in the face more times than I care to count. I don't think it's hubris to declare that death fears taking me. I stopped fearing it long ago. I stopped fearing a lot of things a long time ago. Whenever I finally die, I expect to be put into the ground and experience the same thing I did prior to my birth. I'm also an ornery asshole, so I'll cling on to life so that the people who would relish my passing never get the satisfaction.

    "It was fine in the beginning. Dying and Living were new things, and . . . people did them with the enthusiasm they always bring to 'new things'."
    That is such an interesting line of dialogue. A little biblical. Yet I find it strangely comforting, very revealing about Death's character and their relationship to humanity. The further observation about people being pleased [maybe even proud?] to be born as if they did it themselves yet defensive and shaken when that state of being ends, is also an odd way of viewing life and humanity. It almost seems to miss the context that living involves the lack of understanding in the 'aftermath' of it. People don't know what state is 'after' and as such are fearful of it. Yet Death treats this difference in attitude as almost an insult to her, until she reaches an epiphany about her role in this universe.
    Thought-provoking stuff

    Losing a child is the most painful thing in my opinion. Ive seen a grown man, physically mentally strong intelligent lose his daughter to cancer at 12. A years long battle she unfortunately lost.
    Two men had to literally carry him into the church for the funeral, he looked like a hollow shell broken , consumed by his sorrow. The wife/ mother had years to prepare she was always by the daughters side during treatments she knew her time was over, she was the rock for the family.
    This was 10yrs ago, the father has recovered mostly, life goes on. But he still finds an excuse to leave work early, hes the boss, to visit his daughters grave. You never fully recover from losing a child 😔

    Why do they insist on putting music so loud over the speaking roles. Those of us with bad hearing can't understand the flow of conversation and basically are cheated of the plot line and interest. Shame on you. I tried to watch it again and those string instruments just wiped everything out. Fie on you.

    Have always s been a huge fan of this comic, and when death got her own comic it was so good. But that have taken the essence of her character away, and made it to fit a more pc people. Originally she was a young English goth girl. So she seemed harmless to children and was very child like.
