Ndemban Health Care Center in Bakau, The Gambia

In an effort to, increase the number of available hospital beds, and provide respiratory isolation during and between pandemics The Ministry of Health (MOH) in partnership with UNDP, the World Bank, FAR Gambia Ltd., & Taf-Africa Global and SSHFC undertook the renovation of a previously abandoned Ndemban Clinic into a state of the art health facility. The new facility now provides additional 68 bed spaces for COVID-19 patients of which 53 are for admission to complement the existing treatment facility at the sanotorium that had only 24 beds.
