After a long hot day, OMD, Wire, Thomas Dolby, very hot day, DM came out and it started to rain! It was like a spiritual experience I will never forget. I went to 2 summer camps in 1986. At the first one I was introduced to this song and bought the tape immediately. At my second camp my roommate was napping and I was listening to the song in the room, very quietly, on repeat. Later, I played the song again with her in the room and she said she thought she had dreamed it and was so happy it was real. Converted her on the spot too! LOVE DP!!!

Start dreaming: visualize what it's like to live somewhere else, what it's like when you let go of your current material roots, like selling the empty house, and what it's like to move in to a brand new home. You can always grown new roots. 4. Start figuring out what you are missing in your current location - because most likely it's not only a relationship, but things to do and places to be (so you can meet kindred spirits, potential connectins of any kind. Explore these dreams of yours. If there are things that you really wouldn't be able to do in your current location, then consider creating these things, places, events. Never say no to dreaming, it doesn't have to be realistic, just imagine doing the stuff you are missing. 5. Start checking locations online based on what you are missing currently. If you can't see yourself creating these opportunities, then you can always find a place where somebody else has already created them. It is always possible to move to a different neighborhood, city, county, country, region, continent. Just we may feel uncomfy thinking about that. We are the guards of our own prison. There are adults who consider themselves free and you always can decide to be one of them...if you can't find anyone where you live now, why not move away. It's not easy but it's one solution of the many. In general, our current actions don't yield the desired results, we must free oursleves from the shackles of the current comfort zone, and take different actions so we'd get different results. I used to sing this alone in my room as a 16 y.o. teenager overwhelmed with rushes of hormones - I always felt it was more than just sex and thus I sang this song as a prayer with all my soul asking to the universe to provide me with such a Partner, more than a girl or a woman, I was searching a Companion, a Warrior to Fight on my side and Get my Back - it was platonic in a sense and thus spiritual - today at 50 I understand that all these prayers sang with force and faith generated an energy that attracted such a Companion who was living at 12.000 km from my parents home - it has been quite a journey to get to her physically but also emotionally and spiritually I was so immature, scared and angered as a rejected son I would project all this in my obsession to become a self made man - all through my Ego and she loved it - we married, had a kid and now what? Well I forgot who I really am behind this ideal me i built and fed for s many years that I almost believe I was this persona, this character - I become a great actor and won an Oscar on my own - but then I he wake up call - burn out - step down - slow down and get back to basics - to me to the self I ignored and the shadow I denied for so long and controlled me without to know - and so I came back to Depeche Mode music that guided me through the darkness to this kid afraid about life - this kid is still here alive and breathing - and this Somebody is Me.

My all-time favorite...I was in high school when I first heard this song and fell in-love with it since then...
I went to 2 summer camps in 1986. At the first one I was introduced to this song and bought the tape immediately. At my second camp my roommate was napping and I was listening to the song in the room, very quietly, on repeat. Later, I played the song again with her in the room and she said she thought she had dreamed it and was so happy it was real. Converted her on the spot too! LOVE DP!!!

This song is very heartwhelming, my older brother showed me this video and before the video starts I quickly whispered in his ear that I don't listen to sad songs because It might get stuck in my head, then he said "It's not sad, It's just like a love story and It heals the wound of your heart." Then I trusted him, a few minutes later or should I say after the video..I said "It wasn't that bad, wow.." I was speechless. and for me, I think this song just fits the love story of my mom and dad, ok thats all i'm gonna say, bye and have a good day

hold on, nowadays 50 is only halfway - you have time. Consider the following:
1. not only the peers count ;)
2. Start dreaming: visualize what it's like to live somewhere else, what it's like when you let go of your current material roots, like selling the empty house, and what it's like to move in to a brand new home. You can always grown new roots.
4. Start figuring out what you are missing in your current location - because most likely it's not only a relationship, but things to do and places to be (so you can meet kindred spirits, potential connectins of any kind. Explore these dreams of yours. If there are things that you really wouldn't be able to do in your current location, then consider creating these things, places, events. Never say no to dreaming, it doesn't have to be realistic, just imagine doing the stuff you are missing.
5. Start checking locations online based on what you are missing currently.
If you can't see yourself creating these opportunities, then you can always find a place where somebody else has already created them. It is always possible to move to a different neighborhood, city, county, country, region, continent. Just we may feel uncomfy thinking about that. We are the guards of our own prison. There are adults who consider themselves free and you always can decide to be one of them...if you can't find anyone where you live now, why not move away. It's not easy but it's one solution of the many.
In general, our current actions don't yield the desired results, we must free oursleves from the shackles of the current comfort zone, and take different actions so we'd get different results. And if you often do stuff you like, then you often meet people. No opportunities? Create them. Be the change you want to see in the world. Changes may be uncomfy but nothing else provides you with a better chance for new connections - all with a potential to become friendships or much more. Don't expect, just explore these and find your treasures. You know, like when you were a kid. You are good enough as you are, you are interesting and unique. Regarding creating the opportunities youare missing: You never know who will be greatful for the opportunities you create - so start creating.
Just let yourself get out of your current life, and comfort zone :) I know it feels weird and scary but if the current ways just don't work, you NEED to move on to new stuff.

I used to sing this alone in my room as a 16 y.o. teenager overwhelmed with rushes of hormones - I always felt it was more than just sex and thus I sang this song as a prayer with all my soul asking to the universe to provide me with such a Partner, more than a girl or a woman, I was searching a Companion, a Warrior to Fight on my side and Get my Back - it was platonic in a sense and thus spiritual - today at 50 I understand that all these prayers sang with force and faith generated an energy that attracted such a Companion who was living at 12.000 km from my parents home - it has been quite a journey to get to her physically but also emotionally and spiritually I was so immature, scared and angered as a rejected son I would project all this in my obsession to become a self made man - all through my Ego and she loved it - we married, had a kid and now what? Well I forgot who I really am behind this ideal me i built and fed for s many years that I almost believe I was this persona, this character - I become a great actor and won an Oscar on my own - but then I he wake up call - burn out - step down - slow down and get back to basics - to me to the self I ignored and the shadow I denied for so long and controlled me without to know - and so I came back to Depeche Mode music that guided me through the darkness to this kid afraid about life - this kid is still here alive and breathing - and this Somebody is Me.
