I Still remember how this ending destroys me inside and out. And at the same time very happy that rin didn't actually die but came back to her mother's womb to be born again. Still a happy ending I Should say. 11/10 and need to be watched by many because this masterpiece is underrated af.
This is incredibly sad but i still cant get over how the original characters died from the meteor shower and that the characters here are just an exact yet slightly different versions of them that had the low chance of the existing through the possible billions of years that life has repeated on the planet. So even though it repeated those are still not the same characters that we followed through out the series.
They are the same characters! The versions of Rin, Al, Mel, Allu, Monica, and Pony that we watch through the whole series remains exactly the same. Rather, we were watching that team in the future and Finis, Prince Rudo, Henry, and Corte in the far past. The meteor never hit Rin and the others - it’d *already* hit billions upon billions of years prior. Henry is the only character who we see two different versions of on screen at the same time - the Henry that meets Rin, escapes from prison with them, and has a team of people following him is different than the Henry that falls in love with Finis, pledges his allegiance to her, and perishes from the Song of Fire.
We see the same characters reappear so I'm fairly certain they are the same exact characters we followed throughout the entire series. Their reactions kind of give that away I think also if I'm understanding and perceiving correctly.

How could Rin who loves singing and wanted to go to the capital to sing not know of Finnis, who's basically this magical songstress that makes miracles happen through her songs. For me, it started to click when the soldiers said they have never even seen Finnis and doubts even her existence. How could soldiers not know/have seen the prince's fiance? But of course! Its because we were watching different timelines.
I know bits of this anime when the brown haired lass used her healing song to restore the world she used it to not only restore glories towards their realms but the brown haired girl saved everyone including the one she twas singing with and she gave away her physical form and life to save everyone.
It's very close, but Rin (the brown haired) was created to heal Finnis's heart (the other singer). To achieve this, both sing their songs ... The Destruction Song and the Healing Song, discovering at that moment that both songs were created to sing together, in The Beginning Song ... that's why, having accomplished her job, Rin disappears. , then "his song, which is his very existence ... has been heard."

But in the end both parts are getting back together, so the world gets destroyed and recreated, wich is the actual point of the song and is none the less a beautiful metaphor for the codependency if life and death... My theory is the reason why Finis couldn’t find her Henry is because she couldn’t reincarnate. Her soul was trapped in the same life in which her Henry died. So because of that the universe had to pretty much make a new Henry that was never involved with Finis in a previous life since Finis herself was never born in those other lives. After all you can’t have a soulmate who was never born in each new life. Maybe once Finis can die and be born again she’ll get her Henry back.
