I have seen 3 of the movies. The Divide gave me nightmares for months. I really enjoy apocalypse movies and never have nightmares, which gives you an idea of the horror of The Divide. Thank you for the great list.
I don't know. Just watched the trailer and the movie seems REALLY cheesy, in pair with heavily exaggerated emotional responses from people. But that's just the vibe I got from the trailer. I'll give the move a shot.
Thanks! I'm glad the movies look interesting. 'The Day' is definitely a good choice-full of tension and well-executed. Great to hear you appreciate it!
Fantastic- all great movies. The divide left me scarred for months. Even have the odd nightmare about being trapped in the basement and being part of the descent into madness. It’s a vivid film and not for the faint hearted, however the original cut that was released was pulled a year or so after it was released and most of the extreme scenes were cut.
I’m glad you enjoyed the movies, although “The Divide” can indeed be a very intense experience. It’s a film that can leave a lasting impression and evoke strong emotions. The original cut was even more extreme, which only underscores how impactful it is. Are there any other films that have left a similar impression on you?
Extinction was a really good movie. Didn't go where I expected it too, which was wonderful. But Z for Zachariah was terrible. I hated the book when I read it in high school and I disliked the movie as well.
Thanks for the comment! The Divide is such a powerful film-the raw atmosphere and psychological tension really hit hard. Great recommendation to start with! Which other movies from the list did you enjoy the most?
It's frustrating when you're looking for a specific movie and end up with the wrong links! "The Last Days" from 2013 can be hard to find because it's often confused with other films with similar titles. Maybe try searching for it on streaming platforms like Amazon Prime, Netflix, or Google Play. Sometimes, it’s also worth checking official trailers on TH-cam, which might lead you to the correct sources.
That’s awesome! I’m glad you’ve seen five of them and have them on DVD. Which one did you like the most? Maybe there’s something you’d want to add to your collection in the future?
@@bestmovies-wg1rq I enjoyed The Day..Loved how they put a filter on the movie to give it a more bleak look about it..I keep adding to collection..Have loads of Post apocalyptic movies..I thought The Road is a awesome movie and again they gave it a bleak look about it..I personally find a lot of non big budget movies are very good with good ideas and plots..Paint the Sands Red is also a good original zombie idea.
You're right, 'The Last Days' is in Spanish, but I'm sure you can find a version with English subtitles somewhere. It's worth checking different platforms, as availability often depends on the region. Thanks for the comment!
"The Book of Eli" is definitely a great film, but it’s more well-known compared to the hidden gems we’re focusing on in this list. Our goal is to shine a light on lesser-known movies that might not have received as much attention. Thanks for the suggestion!
most of these movies are very good. The Day , After the dark..absolute masterpieces, although the description of the second film here is quite inaccurate. .
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Glad to hear you enjoyed the movies. I agree that descriptions can sometimes be misleading. How do you think the description of the second film could be improved?
That's a great idea! A dedicated clip would definitely do the film more justice, especially if it highlights the psychological elements. Thanks for the suggestion-I'll keep it in mind for future content!
That's true, the lack of dialogue in trailers can sometimes give away that they're foreign productions. Often, these films have a unique atmosphere that's definitely worth exploring!
Thank you for your comment! AI is inevitable and is getting closer to sounding like a human. Those who don't accept this progress may be left far behind. Technology is constantly evolving, and it's important to stay up to date! What are your thoughts on this?
Thanks for pointing that out! If 'Extinction' was mislabeled as 'Hell', it definitely needs to be corrected. I appreciate you bringing this to my attention.
Haha, that’s true! In 2011, there were definitely a lot of post-apocalyptic films and shows catching the spotlight. It seems like that year was full of creative experimentation with the genre. Thanks for the fun comment! 😄

Aftermath (2014) is an awesome film.
Do you know any similar films?

"I totally agree! Extinction had some great twists and kept me guessing. What surprised you the most about the movie?
The book Z for Zacharia was mediocre....but the movie was WAY worse.
Thanks
I recommend myself for the future and enjoy watching.
I’ve seen 5 of these…. IDE recommend the Divide first.

You always know the foreign movies because the trailers have no speech.
