It was exactly 20years ago. My father was pissed off each time I listened black metal: "How can you enjoy this kind of music, it's only noise!" On the same year, I bought the greatest hits albums of The Ventures and Dick Dale. Then came the day my father told me: "Hey, I need you to pick up a car. Here the keys of the convertible and drive me to the garage." I said: "Okay, let's me grab one CD." Brought my The Ventures - Greatest Hits album and put in the radio. My father said: "I hope this is not your f*cking metal noise!" After a couple of seconds, he said: "What!! You like The Ventures too!! I used to listen when I was young. But I got rid of all those stuff. Woah, I didn't expect you liking this kind of music."
Every metalhead likes surf rock, it's a fact.
Not every. Nordic Black Metal is sort of like Surf Rock but opting for Eurofolk instead of Country and Latin though.

the lack of distortion (said because i do not know what pedals created your buttery tone) really brings the technique to the surface. you're a great guitar player, I only wanna see what comes from you instead of the artists you cover (even though i love Ulver). Great stuff!

Yeah, its reverb, and it turned out to be a distinctive sound, a musical cliche/arrangement for this kind of music.
