Awesome!! Make sure you clean it out every couple months and it will run a long time. Mine is stilling running everyday, I got it on a cart and a bottle at the bottom to catch the melted ice, then I just rotate the bottle once the other one is empty!!!! I smoke and grill like 2 times a week and this summer I need ice for some cold beers. I just ordered the same brand but a bigger ice maker. I needed one for when I bbq and for work all day. Soon I’ll be just adding ice to my cooler at home instead of going to by ice all the time

@@FAFO_24 I can’t remember the unit number but it a bit wider and taller. I had it for 5 mouth now and so far I love it
I am running an 18mn cycle on the ice and was able to produce the equivalent of 2+ bags of lg ice over an 8-hour period. For home use that is enough. the square-sized ice works well. Be sure to put the ice into your freezer or it will melt. For the cost ($400+/-), it seems to work well. If you need more ice w/ a freezer component, get a true professional ice maker.

@@DeadBrokeBBQ That's why that name sounded familiar, the 12v/110v portable fridge/freezer I have. I used it when I was longhaul trucking. Kept food to like -20°f but didn't use much battery life. I loved mine but my 12v power cord after some years went bad and never figured out how to replace it. But great units. So cool news. I can't help but wonder if they have a 12v kegerator to,that would be amazing in fish camp. So you got my attention. I'll look up their web page and maybe I can get mine working again. 👍😁🍻

Here's something to consider when you do a cooler/freezer review. I used mine in a semi traveling all over the US, Canada and Alaska. That's very heavy abuse but never a problem. Unfortunately, it's discontinued. I thought I had a chance on Amazon, but when it arrived, they sent me the one without the 5-gallon jug input. So I returned it.

How do you select the water supply (i.e. top bottle or water line)? And how much gallons does it take to fill up the bin completely? How much energy does it use?
BTW, the Vevor is out of stock, any other brands you'd recommend? I saw a Euhomy / hOmeLabs Freestanding for $500 and says it has a 30 pound canister that it can fill in 8 hours (100lbs/day).
I use the bottled water only. Probably uses around 2.5 gallons to come close to filling it up but that all depends on how thick you want your ice. No clues how much power it uses. Vevor will have more available but if you are in a hurry buy the other. I use mine every month and make up 6-8 bags and then out it away until I start running short again.Thanks for watching!!

Instead of wasting the melt water, i might rig some kind of recirculation pump. Perhaps a nice new/bleached automatic bilge pump in the bucket. Sterilize & seal the bucket.

This video couldn't have come at a better time! I was thinking of getting one of these to either bring with me at some state fairs (I'm a lemonade vendor). If you had to guess, how many pounds of ice would you get out of just one 5 gallon water jug?
Man I really wish I would have measured better but I know we had at least 25 pounds. Sorry I used it for basically 2 days and we bagged up all of it but we are running low again so we need to fire it back up! It is not perfect but it is priced right and very portable!!! When you say run water and/or vinegar through it you clean it, where are putting that and how much? Are you pouring it in where the water bottle connects?
Yes I run a few cups of vinegar through the top so it cleans up good. The spot that I see that can get clogged up is by the float inlet. I saw that Lowe's sells ice maker cleaner so one of these times I might try that. Just make sure you rinse it down good before you start making ice again! Thanks for watching!

Don’t buy from Vevor. I bought this same ice maker and it wouldn’t make ice. Customer service said to contact a repair guy to fix it. It’s brand new and they want me to fix it. WTF?

Does this machine need to have a drain?
I actually have mine on a stainless table and a bottle catching the melted ice. Then I just swap them back and forth. So you do not have to hook it up to a drain but you will have to catch the melted water. Thanks for watching!!!

I never measured to be honest, mine runs all the time. I have it on a table and it drains into another 5 gallon jug and I just rotate it as needed. Thanks for watching!

You got to hold it in a bucket of connect it to a drain.

@@DeadBrokeBBQ Absolutely! Ice is a great example. I am Czech and ice is just not a thing here. And never was. Probably because of the climate. You sometimes get ice but never too much. Compare it to American mountains of ice in every drink :D Anyway, I bought a new ice maker for this summer so I went "full American" and so far no regrets at all! Take care!

I would not recommend a Vevor Ice Maker to anyone! I bought a KM-55 model only 14 months ago and the water pump has failed. Vevor customer support tell me the unit is now out of production and for me to repair it locally. I asked for a replacement water pump so that I could make the repair but was told it was an old unit and they no longer make the water pump. I then asked for technical specs on the pump so that I could try to find a replacement. They refused to provide any specifications and just reiterated it was out of 1 year warranty and I was on my own with it. This is a wasted $500 investment that could have gone toward a quality ice maker. Buyer beware.

I bought the sonic one from Vevor and it lasted a year, good thing I bought the warranty because they told me I was out of luck. Called the warranty company and they said known issue and sent me. Check. I think these guys on TH-cam get them for free do a video and call it a day. Don’t buy from Vevor!
Mine is still running strong and runs daily!!! You can buy 3 of these for the price of one of the more popular brands. OF course us TH-camrs get these and make videos, you watched it but we don't take a couple years to make the video!!!! hahahahahhaa You think I should film a 3 second clip everyday on it for lets say 2 years? hahahahaah if it doesn't work good when I get it or it seems like a POS, the video is never made. Stop blaming TH-camrs because you bought a cheap alternative to meet your needs.
