I think it makes more sense to release the trailer when the update is already there. The trailer can hype people up who played Apex in the past. If they would have to wait X days then for the update, many of them might not jump back in, because they forget about it again.
I have even slow down playing myself I normally shoot for masters every season but stopped at D1. Still enjoy the game and I'm glad you are still creating content. I'm excited for the new season regardless.
I started playing Apex on season 2 and have never missed a season since then, I have played and completed every single battle pass since then. I can honestly say I have not played one single game on season 22 and unless the game is fixed to where it is fun again like a sbmm, cheaters, audio, servers and so on then I will not play a season 23 either. I am done with respawn and EA being greedy and lazy when it comes to this game if they don't fix it then I will move on to the next.
Honestly, kudos to you. I have stopped playing this game for years now, because my nearest server here is full of cheaters from both the People's Republic, the Archipelago Republic, Special Administrative Regions, and various other nefarious actors that used this server to farm out accounts to sell on the black market, test out latest 0-day vulnerabilities to use as hacks to be sold and used by competitive e-sports teams in the _more important geographic markets_ like the North American & European markets. Better off playing Call of Duty or non-AAA games, I've played niche games because every AAA game feels like a rat race of sorts, and I'm already stressed out trying to survive in a rat race of a society.
I play Apex all the time and I didn’t know about the new season. However, I think it’s a good thing as everything will be new for everyone and not spoilt by leaks. I think EA and Respawn have done well by doing this.

Counterpoint. Their clearly milking Apex in preparation to drop it. They are already making the Battlepass skins lower quality and locking the quality of older battlepasses behind an additional fee while also forcing a time-crunch. They tried to make it unable to be purchased with Apex Coins, which they did for the second part of last season (technically still this season?). They have been primarily resorting to making universal Heirlooms over Legend exclusives and tacking on basic features of those Heirlooms behind paywalls or extreme RNG. They've been reusing event LTM's constantly instead of making any new ones. Come on, even last season was particular bland feeling. There even has been discussions of just making Apex Legends 2.0 due to the state of the game.

The split season pass really turned a lot of people away, just another EA cash grab. I've been playing Apex since day one and although I'm terrible it's always been a go to for years. I think it is a fair point about a lack of investment but it is also fair that Apex is (at time of writing this comment - midday on a Tuesday) the most popular product of theirs on Twitch. I'm sure FIFA, Madden, etc... switch places but whilst they're still streaming to 25k+ when the game is 'in the pits' they aren't going anywhere anytime soon. I anticipate some OG map / meta throwbacks to cash in like Fortnite did and I anticipate there being more LTMs being introduced like revival, three shots, etc... for the TH-cam/Twitch market. As an OG player that hasn't played for well over a year, I find a lot of the changes too confusing to start playing again (despite watching daily iTemp and Sooksfar). I don't understand the battle pass revisions or the new perks system

Season 4 was definitely the most hype around an Apex Season launch in its history: The Forge mis-direct, the teasers around Hammond Robotics, the excellent Stories of the Outlands Revenant cinematic... it all came together to launch... an unfortunely very mid legend at the time. (They forgot to make Revenant actually OP for his launch.) If I wasn't following Apex creators like yourself, I would absolutely have missed the new season coming out today. Not sure what's up with the lack of trailers/teasers (There's rumors a voice actor strike might be the cause but we'll never know). I'm sure EA still cares about Apex, because, despite missing the "we want unlimited money"-mark, it still is one of their most profitable enterprises so they'd be stupid to not invest in it. The bigger problem is that after almost 6 years, there's just not much you can do game-wise to keep players engaged. The core gameplay loop (looting, moving around, shooting) is fun as ever, but the overall BR gameplay is stale for veteran players, and degrading with a shrinking player base (matchmaking getting worse, ...). Add to that that the game is now so complex that it is very off-putting for new players and you've got the "death spiral" that every service game finds itself in. The question is just: How fast is it turning?

The lack of trailer is likely due to the whole voice cast being on strike at the moment, so they can’t make any sort of lore video. The fact that apex is struggling right now with promoting means that the strike is working somewhat, so silver lining
Surprises don’t usually work when you know they are coming but at least they’re trying something different. Hoping whatever they do brings excitement back. The past two launches I think were pretty weak. They delayed the new map and never continued any lore within the game with Alter or ongoing story lines. I have never been a fan of creators launching preseason gameplay. I think it will be better for that hype and reaction all to come as the season begins. I’ve played since week 0 for what it’s worth. It’s worth a lot to EA they need to figure it out. Game needs to be more dynamic with daily/weekly changes. They’ve been putting all their chips into monetized events rather than actual content

I loved Apex, but stopped playing due to level of cheating in the game. I loved Star Wars Battlefront 2015, that game died, all that is left there are cheaters. Integrity and cheat free should be an active objective. If the game becomes too sweaty, people will walk. Along with other unresolved issues it is frustrating. Nobody wants to be fodder, particularly to a band of cheats. Apex could revive if it has the will to solve the issues.

There's simply no market for me to thrive on, for this game, it's already locked out for me. I wish geography didn't make me deal with threats from a certain honey-loving bear of a ruler overseeing a big country with an even bigger ego, and with a population size that, even if you only count a very small percentage of its people being proper hackers, is enough to wipe my own country's population out into forced poverty.
Apex has the best shooting mechanics and movement than any other multiplayer shooter out there, I play it for that reason. Everything else about the game (skins, heirlooms, events etc) are pretty bad and boring, it doesnt interest me in the slightest

The perk system is very simplistic and easy to understand. It's just a 2 way choice from white shield to blue shield and blue shield to purple shield.

Apex has the best shooting mechanics and movement than any other multiplayer shooter out there, I play it for that reason. Everything else about the game (skins, heirlooms, events etc) are pretty bad and boring, it doesnt interest me in the slightest
