There were Orange Alerts for other districts as well. So you are saying it was supposed to evacuate everyone from the Orange Alerted Districts?? The precautions are taken according to the intensity of the alerts. Red alert is given more and more importance over others. The GSI has given only Green Alert about landslides. What was government supposed to do?? To evacuate people from a place where green alert was given?

Landslides r frequent to kerala. We don't have proper disaster management or efforts made to tackle these scientifically prior to seasonal damages and man made disasters( in regards to gadgil, kasturirangan reports). And it's highly improbable to evacuate all the people from possible occurances of landslides from an orange alert as warning cs hills and mountain plateau covers majority of wayanad and idukki. But keeping this aside, it's disgusting to find concerns taking political colours and finding ministers talk as politicians but not as a union minister of India and I'm more surprised by their inability to find this as a national disaster
This is exactly man made disaster, it could have been avoided if the Govt could have listen to environment experts like Gadgil and others in time , but innocent souls are victims, so pathetic, It is not the time for blaming but very sad to hear such news...
