The Deer Hair Popper - Fly Tying Tutorials with LIFliesMike - Striped bass and Largemouth Fly

Happy New Year everyone, today we we have a fun and old school style of striped bass/ largemouth or general top water fly, the deer hair popper. Something different than the modern pre shaped or closed foam type poppers that are more common these days.

Danville 210 Flat wax Nylon
Krystal Flash
Marabou
Bucktail
Deer belly hair

Very nice popper thx. U ever take a lighter to the head to burn 🔥 off the fuzz and tighten up the hair?

I've used a lighter to clean the hook eye but never to tighten it up, I'll give it a try. Cheers!

Would have been cool if you used red color instead of purple
