Heavy, melodic, progressive, and TIMELESS. Sevendust strikes again. The metal world needs to do these guys a favor and put them on the top of the charts.
Well, Sevendust is really Nü-Metal but they have influences of heavy, melodic, progressive, thrash, etc.
But they are really Nü-Metal: you listen the atmosphere, the groove and the heavier texture sound of electric guitars (the 3 characterists that defines the Nü-Metal) :)

Very underrated, I saw them open up for Creed in Greensboro,NC about twenty something years ago, I think early 2000s , hell I turned 60 this past April ,I started going to concerts when I was 15 , so there has been quite a few shows over the years, they put in a hell of a show so much energy, I 💞 there melodic heavy style a great band and extremely underrated but they do have a very loyal fan base. +Big Mike's Hobby Channel 2015 is a great year for the Metal genre! Disturbed, Sevendust, Breaking Benjamin, Iron Maiden and many many more have new albums this year. I'll listen to Breaking Benjamin's Discography somewhere in the future but once Iron Maiden and Sevendust's new albums are coming out, I'll listen to all of their discography! I even prepared myself once the albums are coming out.

R3SULT You're wrong actually. By the way judging by how you said what you said you sound like a hater. In my opinion, yes the album does sound like the last two albums but some songs reminded me a lot of the Believe album.
***** No, the same old formula as you were saying is Asylum and Indestructible. I only mentioned Believe because two or three songs from Immortalized kind of reminded me of Believe. This album is not Nu-Metal. Only The Sickness was Nu-Metal. I'm not sure what is Believe though but Believe had kind of romantic songs and so does Immortalized - smooth songs probably Hard Rock.
Morgan Rose is on point in this track. Absolutely fantastic.

The entire band is amazing, I just happen to be a drummer, so thats what I always notice first.
I knew what he meant. Morgan can only scream in one note. I've always pictured him in like a heated argument screaming in the monotone scream and I lose my shit lol. "I ORDERED WHOLE MILK IN MY CHAI TEAAAAAAAAA! THIS.....! IS!...... 2!...... PERCEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENT!" Lol love him to pieces but that note is the reason I can't do a Sevendust marathon longer than like 10 songs lol. The rest of the day if I hear that note I instantly punch whatever made it. Bad times. ;)
un fucking beatable, undefeated, unbelievable undisputed heavy weight champions of this style of music & i wont say which style because they are true musicians with mastery & control of their instruments of mass annihilation & deserve not to be labelled or pigeon holed with genre specific wankerisms.

Just needed to hear this today! Amazing, so many countless gigs, met the guys and they are awesome people. They were so ahead of their time. Still putting out great music.
Killer. Morgan is doing his style justice on this, he dances around the pulse and keeps the line interesting. Guitars groove right beside him. Love the tuning and the syncopation. Vocal line in the chorus is beautiful. This is classic Sevendust. So pumped for the new album.
Holy god that guitar is just beautiful, the whole band is so good! I've always thought their guitarists have some of the best riffs.
I am 54 years old and saw them in Houston years ago and they still rock and definitely in the same league of top notch bands I have seen in my life, keep rocking and keep it hard!
After listening to both Thank You and Not Today, it feels like this album will be the next step on the Black Out The Sun vibe. Heavy and more progressive-esque, it's a different 7D side that rocks and is re-freshening! Can't wait for the album, 7D rules!

I have been with these guys before they made it big I saw them in Johnson city , Tennessee at a club called the casual and I followed them to Dandridge Tennessee and they played in my town Morristown on the lake when my friend's father died and they are my band. I don't go anywhere without a CD of them in my car. I personally got to know each and every member of the group on a personal level and I consider it an honor! Lajon is cool as hellll, talked with him right after his mother died and he was he was a great man to be around even though he was going through that. Hard rock at it's finest. Universal for all! Me too! I saw them in like 97 or 98 when I was 20. I saw them with Coal Chamber, Drain Sth, Ultra Spank. Coal Chamber of course headlined the show. At an old dive bar called the crowbar which hasn't existed for years!
I'm so impressed every time I listen to their music. While even doing more research to get to know the band, I deeply amazed how they're releasing albums between one/two years and not once in half a decade if you know what I mean.

At first I thought this song lacked. I have been a life long sevendust fan but I couldn't get onboard with this one... at first. After coming back several times it grows and grows on you. It's to the point now where it's awesome, unique, and powerful. Thanks for not being easy to digest all the time.

That signature sound that you hear on DnD's Twelve Year Silence as well, the continuity of the low metallic chugging guitar combined with the ripping and tearing of the ambient lead. If vengeful spite had a sound it would sound like this.

Ever since day one of listening to Sevendust, I've always loved them and have always been confused as to why they don't receive much more attention from listeners. I know that most of the music that the masses listen to is tasteless, but Sevendust has always delivered stunning track after stunning track on a constant flow. Time Travellers and Bonfires was an incredible album that gets better with each rotation and Black Out the Sun was just as fantastic (if not, just a touch better). My favourite songs by the band are tied between "Hope" and "Leech" from the Freddy vs. Jason soundtrack. Anyhow, these two tracks that I've heard from the album so far are spectacular and I'll be there, day one, to pick up the full album because Sevendust have never once disappointed. The only thing they NEED to do now is release another live album (doesn't have to be acoustic, because they already have Southside Double-Wide, but let's see them bring out an album that highlights their greatest songs and guaranteed at least half the songs will be better than the originals since they're simply extraordinary to see and hear while performing live).
