People can say what they want about this bike, but what is certain is that Royal Enfield managed to make a good bike with a super affordable price and also with simple maintenance, which can be done by someone who has some knowledge of mechanics. No electronics and simple.👌👍
Well said Helder, this is so true and most new bike now are over engineered on electronics (which nobody will need) that pushes priced up so much it becomes unaffordable. I’m looking forward to riding some more of the Enfield range. 👍
EFI and sensers add $2,000 to the price of the bike. When they go it will be expensive to fix. I just had the carburetor on my Sportster cleaned up for the first time in 25 years. Can't do better than that.
If it had valve caps to access the valves you would not have to take the tank off. Honda copied that feature from Triumph in the old days because Mr. Honda was a motorcycle enthusiast he made his bikes easy to service.All motorcycles should have hydraulic valve adjustment and belt drive. All l do to my Sportster is change the fluids and filter in 30 minutes in my driveway. All bikes should be like that. RE 650 looks like a simple bike but it's loaded with electronics waiting to have a expensive failure. Ex $1,200 to fix the ABS. On a BM W it costs $2,400 to fix. Drum brakes are easy to work on. I replaced the brake cable on my URAL in 30 seconds. Easy peasy!
I couldn't help noticing the quality intro and outro Simon. Excellent stuff. Your review was great too. Amy's feedback from the pillion seat was useful because you don't normally get those in TH-cam bike reviews. Overall, the Interceptor is a cracking motorcycle. A mate has just bought one and is eager for the weather to improve.

Yes I agree I do think it important to get a pillion perspective especially when Amy is on the bike for the same time. Genuinely I think it a good bike and the price of the second hands ones it’s making me think if I need one now lol, but you can only ride one at a time. Super fun to ride in Tenerife.

I is a great bike I’ve been looking on eBay and a second hand one is a bargain in todays bike prices. I’m probably going to sell my Streetfighter this year so maybe I just might treat myself. 👍

If you sold the sports you'd be able to get a brand spanker.. 😎 What's the largest engine they do in this bike? Or is the 650 the largest engine? Very attractive looking bike mate tbh. When you'd pulled over in the video for a little walk around with Amy, I noticed the thick sports stripe on the tank. Looks so classy! 👌🏾
I think they only do the 650 engine in this model and use the same engine in the other models, but I do think it’s all that’s needed any bigger and it would probably weigh the bike down.
ALWAYS GEAR UP! I face the same thing in the US, flip flops, helmets strapped on the parcel rack, I love the Canaries, real review. This is simply a retro, I would keep it honest and unmolested, my Street Triple has all the gubbins. Simple is best
Enjoyed the video Simon. I have a question off topic. What are the gloves you wore in the video and do they offer any crash protection? Looking for cooler gloves for when in warms up here in the States.
Hi Chris, the gloves I was wearing were made by RST I’m unsure they do these as there a few years old now. I was actually supposed to take the ones that match my jacket which are alpinestars air gloves (there good)which are good for hot days. They do offer some good protection just don’t buy cheap eBay’s ones the market is flooded with fakes out there.
Hey Petroos, this bike is definitely a good all rounder but I’m not sure I would want to ride it all the time on highways due to theirs no wind protection, or though you could buy a wind screen but it would probably spoil the look of the bike. Certainly around city’s/towns and country roads it would be perfect. I think this bike would suit all ages with its classic look and in the uk it can be riden on a A2 licence, I’m unsure if the same applies to the NL. Glad you enjoyed the video I’ve got plenty more rides on many different ride this year. I’m hoping to ride the new BSA bike for comparison. 👍

Beautiful bike, I have a chrome Interceptor new from 2019, stunning bike that will never be sold by me.

nice video, for which group of people is this bike intended? live in NL, is not a big city here like London, but there is a lot of highway here
