Considering how much the gaming technology and consoles have improved over the years I'm really disappointed that we haven't had a racing game that came even close to this.
I'll take a remaster of Split/Second: Velocity. Hell, I'll even take the game through backwards compatibility for my XBOX ONE, since I had a digital copy of this game for my XBOX 360.
It's now available on Steam, with negative reviews because the framerate are locked to 30fps only. Kinda feel bad for that. But I still love this game.

for real Split was genuinely impressive and refreshing. We need more decadent game like this but we can't reproach traditional racing games for being normal racing game.

Flipping, freaking amazing -- I have absolutely no idea how there isn't a "Split/Second 2". Playing this on a large screen, with large speakers and all settings to max is very intense -- just like Jerry Bruckheimer intended!

It's absolutely mindbogling why this game wasn't huge hit and its developer closed studio afterwards. I can only complain about it's horrible clunky UI and main menu but game is just brilliant (if kinda unfair later on xD).

Best fun racer by a long shot, racing and blowing shit up! My 2 favourites are bringing the space needle down and where the train goes along the bridge and the whole lot explodes big, love how the carriages shoot off into the distance so realistic, love the game on PS3 and 360.
It reminds me of the movie Death Race. Please try this with your friends competing each other in LAN. I used to play this with my friends, believe me it's way too intense rather than competing with bots. Cause we have played the game so much we knew where and when the Powerplays can be triggered and how to survive, but still making each other crash that makes it interesting for us. Love this game man.
