  • I'm shore fishing the beach in SW Florida specifically for Pompano. The jig and teaser rig I'm using has been producing some great fish catching action in the surf.

      @@RadReelingFishing I’m local as well, I prefer you don’t give out the spots. I’m sure I’ll get some flak for this but people need to learn to look at tides weather, fish behavior etc after all this is a sport!

      @@HifiJason Very well stated! I tell people all the time if the Pompano are in this major inlet, then they are in all the SW Fl inlets. Get out there and find them! I'm always fine with locals fishing the spots if the saw it in a video, right! I've always said that I don't reveal exact locations out of respect for the local anglers. We don't want fifty Pompano fishermen traveling from miles away to fish our area because the exact location was revealed. Someone told me that many of the fishing guides in the Tampa area were furious with Saltstrong for revealing exact locations through their membership...Anyway, spot burning is a hot topic with me, ha ha...

    • @RadReelingFishing

      The weight of the jig depends on the current and wind speed. You want the jig to stay near the bottom. Vid, how to catch Pompano from bridges th-cam.com/video/ZVDvszAI_u8/w-d-xo.html

    Oh…. Fred is very disappointed! I had a great time watching you catch your pompano today. I got rained on fishing the Jetty. Could not get my cart back to the car. Then the lightning started popping all around! I stood where you clean your fish and waited for a chance to run through ankle deep water to the car. Another fisherman ran up and said he lost his pompano out of his cooler. Waves flooded him out. He was very upset and wet to the bone. That’s how it goes some days!

    Where do you buy the jigs?
    That's surf? Not like Texas surf
    Would this work in the Texas surf?
    Are you just bouncing it off the bottom? Hopping it?
    What weight for bigger waves?
    Seems like bright color for that clear water?

    I'll be on the west side one of these days.....
    Every time I fish the salt I never get much sleep,2-3hrs a night,rest of the time I have a rod in the water.
    I don't even care if I don't catch anything,never happened yet though,just like sitting there and sometimes sipping on cold ones.
    I watch just to watch you get fish.I also enjoy the scenery.
    90% of those that watch to find places to fish are the ones too lazy to learn the fish habits and too scout prospective spots.It's the same way here in PA,I try to get away from the people and the heavy fished places and clear an area to fish.Once they see me there at least a few times,guess what happens....they're there all the time and I don't get to fish it again.They also just leave all their stinking garbage.The majority of people are to lazy to do their own time and research and just take your spots.
    You could take a few "ghost" rods (old junk ones,and the reels don't even have to be great working order) with you and set one up about 20-30-40-50yds to each side of you.Don't put any bait on,just a very heavy sinker and throw it out,you also could paint it with nail polish to look like a bait instead of a lead sinker..Now an then pull it in and pretend you adding bait.That will keep many people from fishing up on you....but not all of them,there will still be those a holes out there that will fish over you.
    That Runcl acting up already?

    • @RadReelingFishing
      @RadReelingFishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching. I actually dunked the RUNCL in the water by accident for about three seconds 6 months ago. I never took the reel apart after that dunk to do any maintenance on it. After the trip in this video I took apart the carbon fiber drag washers and discovered they were corroded. I got things cleaned up and it's working fine now. I'm pretty impressed with the performance of those reels so far. I've used them a lot and they are holding up okay. Thanks for adding a comment of value.

      I don't think that much subterfuge is necessary. If you fish in that town then you know the spot.

    • @rider660r
      @rider660r 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ziradee Doesn't matter where it's at in the world,there are always J/A's that want to come fish the same spot you are after you start catching fish.
      I'll sometimes sit just a old chair near a spot I'm fishing at a local bridge and people see it and keep on driving.

    Your Sharing about God....
    How does the Lord Jesus get glory from your current situation?
    By the way you said it, sounds as though you equate prosperity with the goodness of God.... Yet how is Jesus receiving glory from your life? How is the gospel, the Message of the kingdom of God, going forth from your lips and your hands..... Versus you just being able to fish as much as you want...
    Your wrong use of God scripture,, "things work out for the good," is appalling & very misleading....Roman's 8:28( However you can't just pull one verse and make that your life's statement... Why don't you speak about all of Romans 8 or nis 8 or 9 in context...)
    Please finish the verse.. You'll recognize that God only works those things out for those which love him,,, Yet you left out the vital parts that could give Jesus glory.....

      Thanks for watching the video and for sharing your views. My fishing channel isn't a church my friend. I'd encourage you to go back and really listen to what I said. Maybe you'll hear a message of hope, encouragement for someone who is praying, believing and trusting in God in there along with a testimony of the goodness of God that I found during a rough time in my life when I was praying continually. I hope you will also hear a man giving God the credit instead of boasting with pride of his own accomplishments. I had a good christian friend who hurt a lot of people once because he had a telephone pole protruding out of his eye as he was trying to get specs out of other people's eyes.

    Do you prefer the outgoing or incoming tide for pompano?

    • @RadReelingFishing
      @RadReelingFishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I always prefer the tide they are biting on, ha ha...A couple of years ago I'd go to the jetty to jig for Pompano. I'd fish the entire incoming tide and catch nothing, then some local would come along and tell me that the bite was on fire during the outgoing tide the previous day. So, I'd come back the following day and fish the outgoing tide and get skunked. After not catching Pompano for a couple of days trying the different tides, I decided to fish the entire incoming and outgoing and the change periods between, and again nothing. This is what makes the Pompano chase so addicting, when they show up you catch them and you just never know when they are going to show up. I can say that the do tend to bite better right before and after the tide change when the water isn't moving super fast. In the area where I caught the Pompano in this video, I only caught them there for three days and then they were gone...I fished there three more days and never had a Pompano on. Thanks or asking.

    JC have you ever looked at the number of Pompano caught by county? The East Coast catches WAY more Pompano. A handful of counties dominate.

    JC I watch your videos because you’re motivated. I can’t go to your spots lol. If I could I would come fish with you.
    I honestly stay with you’re videos before I go fishing and during on breaks lol and after. You make me want to go out and fight some good weather and the worst.
    I get off of work and go straight to the water. It’s like I’ve got a fishing buddy but you’re on video’s lol
    I just can’t seem to hit the fish at the right times. Like you can. I catch one and wait, wait lol and feed the cranes at night. I would say their my loud mouth friends now. 😂
    Oh I got a cat I feed mullet too. I walk up and say meow meow and she comes out. I’ve noticed she’s not doing to good. She was eating every mullet I could get her. Now she’s looking at them and not hardly eating them. I can’t touch her but I can get a foot away from her.
    I’ve called the rescue to set a trap to make sure she’s ok. I told them I would pay for her to be healthy. No traps yet. But I’m going to catch her if it means she will scratch the shit out of me. I just want to make sure she’s healthy.
    That’s was a long post 😂I apologize. You don’t won’t to read my problems 😂.
    That herion 😂😂😂😂

    Nice work on the pomps JC! As you know I’m a local, I watch your vids just for enjoyment. I would absolutely love to start a TH-cam channel but the number one reason I never have is because of the reasons you discussed. There’s no way to conceal where I am

    Nice pomps, one day I'll get there to catch them, walked those sands with my son, casted a 1000x for the line-siders, to no avail, but the snook zone should be getting warmed up, literally! Great content sir, praise God!

    Very nostalgic for me reminds me of stump pass fished there since I was a kid, be 71 in June caught my first keeper snook there when I was 12. ( smaller minimum then and no maximum). Come down every year since I was 5 or 6. Still do. Enjoy all of your fishing adventures thanks for your effort in producing fun quality programs. Gets me in the mood to go fishing.

    I enjoy your videos and it’s so encouraging that first thing in the morning before fishing, giving praise to God. Amen brother!! Since I found your channel, I’ve learned so much from you in techniques, etc… I noticed you’re using an Ozark wagon. Are the rod holders sold separately and mounted or does the wagon come with the wagon? I’m interested in maybe invest in one, so when the family and I go to the beach, I can do a little fishing and not make multiple trips to the truck. Great video, I’ve never caught any Pomp’s but I’m excited to try after watching your video. Fish on!!

    so you toss out the jig and just twitch it without reeling?

    • @RadReelingFishing
      @RadReelingFishing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You keep it bouncing on the bottom. If there's a lot of current you might not need to reel much.

    • @chuffman24
      @chuffman24 ปีที่แล้ว

      @RadReelingFishing is there any need to put a small piece of fish bites on the hook, or do you find the jig is sufficient by itself?

    I live in Live Oak Fl. So I'm not interested your fishing locations. I'm watching your videos for entertainment and technical information. You editing is spot on, no foul language, and you do things that anyone can do. Much respect to you. I too plan on retirement early (55 actually) it has been my goal since I was 30 yrs old.

    • @RadReelingFishing
      @RadReelingFishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching and commenting. Early retirement is certainly a great goal! I think the idea of being retired is relative to the individual view of retirement. Today I spoke with several homeless people who had a tent set up on the waters edge and were enjoying the Florida sunshine and the view. They seemed to be enjoying early retirement, ha ha...
