Kenya, Africa: In 2007, I was in form one in Kangema High School, Murang’a County. The then local MP Hon. Michuki commissioned tarmacing of Kiruri-Kangema-Kanorero-Stmary’s road...the contractor was using a Liebheer excavator (though the ordinary size). Since then, I loved liebheer and it stuck in my mind

I can see they are quarrying marble but most of the slabs seem to be 'damaged' when they are sliced off the mountain side so how much of this eventually finite quantity of Carrara marble is left for finishing to saleable marble?

Enough I guess that why they're still in business I'm just saying

"Damaged" ... dont talk shit when you dont know the trade... most of them are cut to palm size tiles...

@@S70AMG Unless you're making countertops and wall panels in which case a "palm size tile" just doesn't cut it and "waste" is "waste" but thanks for catching up on the conversation two years later.

@@Park2King the "waste" is fragile marble that cant be sold thats why it broke. If they want marble for a tabletop they just put a bigger pile of sand for it to have a soft fall or load it by crane(which is the worst way to do so and very cost reducing)
