  • Do you want to attain the highest credential and level of training available in your field within a supportive and integrative environment? Bastyr University is launching the second cohort of its revitalized Doctor of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine program in Advanced Pain Management.
In this post-graduate doctoral program you will gain advanced clinical expertise, research competency, and deepen your knowledge of the medicine, particularly in tackling what has become a national health crisis: the treatment of pain. One weekend intensive a month and online classes accommodate the schedules of professional acupuncturists.
Clinical training occurs at a cutting-edge collaborative rotation in the Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine Department at Harborview Medical Center, the premier trauma facility in the Northwest. Clinical supervision and teaching abilities are fostered through instruction and practice at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health.
In addition to training at Harborview and the Bastyr Center for Natural Health, you'll gain multiple tools for effectively treating pain ranging from Orthopedics and Sports Acupuncture to Low Level Laser Therapy. You'll hone your professional writing skills working towards publishable case reports. You'll learn and apply research skills as you engage with your mentor and colleagues on your doctoral capstone project.
This degree program positions you to advance at the forefront of our growing field. Your achievement will enable you to be more effective in your practice, with greater scope and potential for leadership in your profession and the wider world of integrative medicine.
