This is Hitchin, Britain in a nutshell.
Hitchin is a small town, even a ‘sleepy’ town, but has played a significant role in the history of education and medicine.
Hitchin dates from at least the eighth century AD, and is one of the oldest towns in the county. The town takes its name from the HICCA people, a tribe of Britons mentioned in the c.7th document the Tribal Hidage, which was a kind forerunner of the Domesday book. So, Hitchiners were not Anglo-Saxons, but indigenous Britons! How more British could Hitchin be?!

I was in Hitchin in 1986-87-89 always in september. I’ve got greats souvenirs. Nice town and nice people. It will be always in my hearth. Best regards from Barcelona, Spain.
Clearly a great deal of effort went into the making of this Documentary. Give the creators an award. Bravo!
Could not agree more - My Son & Daughter went to the Boys and Girls Grammar Schools respectively and still have great links and friends from their time living in Hitchin.

Fantastic video, I've just visited Hitchin today having spent last night there in the Priory Hotel en route home to Nottingham. I only picked it because I knew it featured in Dr Foster and am happy to say I was not disappointed.
