  • Chinese University of Hong Kong Hostels | CUHK Study Abroad Dorm Tour | In this video, I'll show you the different CUHK hostels you could stay at while studying abroad and living on campus, as well as pranks you can pull! You can also call these hostels and dorms CUHK guest house. I House CUHK is common for Chinese University of Hong Kong exchange students, but not everyone gets placed at CUHK i house. The other options for CUHK hostels are shown in this video that isn't a part of the CUHK study abroad blog. You won't have to pay a cuhk deposit refund but they may take your card info for any damages that occur. I have a cuhk buddy that lives off campus and my roommate is a local student living on campus at cuhk. The CUHK shuttle bus route map will help teach you what bus to take from your hostel since you won't need the cuhk parking label because exchange students typically don't bring their cars! A CUHK canteen map can be found on the CUHK app where you'll also see the MTR University Station that connects the school to the rest of Hong Kong, the city. The CUHK university gymnasium is located on campus. The cuhk housing allowance is cheap and will save you money during your semester study abroad in Hong Kong. Join some CUHK student organizations if you want to be integrated with local students. I loved the CUHK buddy program because they paired me with a full time student that understands what it's like back in the US America. We'll be talking about the CC hostel cuhk since I stayed there for orientation. Be on the look out for cuhk insurance needs.
My CUHK study abroad orientation hostel was in Chung Chi College Pentecostal Mission Hall Complex Low Block which is similar to the Pentecostal Mission Hall Complex High Block. Other dorms in CC hostel CUHK are: Hua Lien Tang, Lee Shu Pui Hall, Madam SH Ho Hall, Ming Hua Tang, Theology Building, Wen Chih Tang, Wen Lin Tang, and Ying Lin Tang. Many exchange and international students at Chinese U Hong Kong stay at I house or International House. There's I house 1, 2, 3, an 4. My permanent hostel was Shaw College Student Hostel 2 Yat Sen Hall. There is also Kuo Mou Hall. Other colleges and hostels that exchange students are placed in include New Asia College at Chih Hsing Hall, Xuesi Hall, Grace Tien Hall, and Daisy Li Hall. The United College canteen for staff or students is one of the best canteens on the Chinese University of Hong Kong campus. Exchange students in United can stay at i house or Bethlehem Hal, Chan Chun Ha Hostel, or Hang Seng Hall. A really nice college to stay in is Morningside College because it's close between central campus and the MTR university station. It's one of the dorms that require a meal plan. My first favorite canteen on campus was S.H. Ho College. If you stay in their hostels, you can be In Ho Tim Hall and Lee Quo Wei Hall. CW Chu College is the other one that hosts communal dinners. I have a friend at CW 2 hostels. We Yee Sun College is close to Shaw College. Lee Woo Sing College is one of the nicer ones because their dorms come with mini fridges. You'd like that when there's no space for your to go box in the communal fridges.

Hello! I’m sorry to interrupt you, however I would really like to ask you one thing. What dorm is it exactly (maybe I’ve missed the name in the video, in this way I’m sorry!) and what was the price of living in this dorm. Really thank you for all the information, I’m also planning to go to Hong Kong for one semester next year💕

Hi! There were 3 dorms featured! My permanent one was Shaw College Yat Sen Hall or Student Hostel 2 and about 1,000 USD for the semester. The others, I’m not sure the price but probably similar. They were International house 3 and SHHO With all the pranks but it does say what each one is in the video

Hey idk if you'll ever see this but I was wondering, as an exchange student, how you got into the residence hall youw anted to? I searched their website and theres some weird point based system for getting into the room you want?? How does the application work? Also...how do the meal plans work? Haha, the food looks great when I looked it up lol

Hi! As an exchange student, I wasn't given the option to pick any residence hall, just the type of housing like International House or hostel. I don't know about any point system. I think it's almost random where you end up! or alphabetical by school? I think the application was fairly straight forward. I don't remember it being hard except for the housing options. Some schools have 2 communal dinners but for all other meals you just pay for the food like at fast-food restaurants. It was good food!

Pete Ro yes!! I believe all students by now should be off campus. I’m not sure about what exactly is going on on campus but most of the students are gone, even the protesting students

@@FullTimeTravelPham we should have stayed it would have been a base of operations, we would have set up a centralized organization, and plan disruption operations outside of the school. if the police do decide to enter, they would be held of in specific choke points. most importantly there would have been an organized force, not just waves of protesters like the french revolution, but different universities having their own small armies, making small arms, torches, thrown objects. There would be a leader that would direct and instigate actions, plans, it would be the start of a revolution like the chinese revolution of 1911. so many like minded people all in one place, ideas will fluorish.

@@FullTimeTravelPham That's unfortunate. Hope you had fun in HK! My friends were called home last week with about a month left in the semester. Do you have any plans to go back there? Maybe next semester.

I do plan to go back to hong kong, but not for a while. I think everything will need to be settled for me to come back so my short trip can be as full with activities and friends as possible.

This video was deeply nostalgic (perhaps for all of the fellow exchangers who had to struggle through a semester with just one roll of school-issued TP) for me.

Great video! I am am going to study at CUHK in Spring (Jan-May) and really liked the tour. Are you still in contact with students at CUHK or do you have some information on the current situation at CUHK following the protests?

Alex S that is so exciting!! I’m so glad there’s still students going to this wonderful country next semester!! I am still in contact with local students there but I don’t think there has been much activity on campus since the week school was canceled

@@FullTimeTravelPham oh so does that mean there are rooms with AC or did you purchase ur own AC. I'm currently planning to attend CUHK next summer, so I just wanted to get an insight on the dorms. Thanks for the quick response.
