    I was afraid that I was going to have to figure out how to use this thing from the instructions. (Which are basically non-existent.) Very informative and you have a charming presentation style. Thank you!

    Hi Ray. I've been using one of these for the last 18months. It's brilliant!

    You can also use the USB lead to connect to a computer and use software. Done this a few times. Excellent kit.

    just watching your video as i make a load box for calibration. it's goiing to have the normal three cal loads but on so329 connectors. so I can use any length of coax and calibrate at the end of it. There is a function for moving the cal point if you add some coax but, it needs a bit of information about the coax your fitting. I'm doing this as I'm going to adjust a 6 band trapped vertical and want to be a way from the antenna so I'm not loading it.

    Hello very interesting video and nice presentation!!
    Thanks.
    A few questions before I buy the nanoVNA-H4 (newer version). Is the plastic housing no problem with RF radiation?
    And isn't the mounting of the SMA connectors on the printed circuit board mechanically weak?

      There's no RF radiation problem as far as I can tell. I don't think the SMA connectors are mechanically weak, they seem pretty good to me.

    👍Thanks for video. These are amazing instruments for very little cost. Years ago, you had to pay eye watering money for equipment like this. With the test you did, I am wondering if you measured the SWR characteristics of the antenna system (co-ax and feeder) rather than just the antenna. Unless your co-ax is a half-wave multiple, to find out what is going on at the antenna, perhaps calibrating at the feedpoint or factoring in the delay for your co-ax would give a better SWR plot for the antenna?

    • @g4nsj
      @g4nsj  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Steve, I’ve measured SWR at the antenna and the shack end of the coax. It is am amazing instrument. So glad I’ve got it. Cheers, Ray.

    Ok for the price, but does not do S22 and S12. I guess you just have to connect your device backward to get S22 and S12. Also, I wonder it has computer interface to download and plot the results on computer say Linux computer?!

    I don't know why but I've never been able to get mine working. It just shows 1 to 1 swr all time. M7AOE

      That’s a shame. Presumably, the battery is fully charged?

      @@g4nsj Yes, its fully charged. I would like to use it to set up the new ampro15 aerial for my car roof!

    • @g4nsj
      @g4nsj  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Rayxl1 In that case, I don't know what's wrong. The Ampro-15 is a nice antenna.

    • @Rayxl1
      @Rayxl1 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I might just buy another one. I did have it working a bit but the low swr peaks flitted about all over the place. You can join the ampro 15 and ampro 20 aerials together It would be nice to see what the resultant resonant frequency is. I'll experiment at Kings Standing when the wind dies down! M7AOE
