Thank you for making these Back to Basics guides, Claic. I think it is important for newer players to remember what you reiterated in the video, you don't have to be able to take down everything yet. Honestly, Gumi has been taking it easy on us lately. Remember OG Maxwell? I had been playing since about 20 days after release, and I was only able to clear it thanks to EvilLaughter's guide. They kicked our asses with those first early fights! I guess what I'm trying to say is that new players will get there eventually, either through better gear or powercreep. Just be patient, it'll come.

Great guide as usual. I definitely appreciate your reiteration that these are guides, used to explain mechanics and fundamentals of the game. There are many different sprites that one could bring and have a successful outcome.
I would remind players that Xon + Ravens Cape will significantly increase chances of rat tails to drop - so bringing him with you (even without the cape) will help expedite things. That and equip Germinas Boots on someone to use free escape every turn.
I don't think a lot of people have Mystea, but definitely a perfect guide for those who do - or those who will in the future!

Ultimately if players haven't beaten many other trials, they probably aren't ready for Bahamut. If uou offend someone because of your gear, just tell them to use a Tent to remove the salt and burn!!

Thanks so much for this tutorial! Now I have Bahamut!! Could not have done this without you. Luckily, my team lined up with yours, but it still took a while. Mostly (I think) because I loaded up everyone with SPR instead of a prudent amount of HP. So I got KO’d for a week or so. Mysteria had 500+ SPR at that point, but only 3k HP. Ugh. Definitely learned much from your line up once I took a good close look. Idk how you figure this all out. Thanks a ton!!

Claic Yuzolt hey sorry if i sound like a nitpicker but since these videos are meant to teach mechanics, you appear to be doing your chain "backward", that is orlandu before agrias. Its a minor difference once the imperil is in place and if the chainers damage is roughly equal, but on turn 1 and any turn when the holy debuff isnt on, when you have huge damage variance ( that landu is about 8x the damage of your agrias) you are losing a LOT of damage since that landu wont have the holy imperil for his first attack. This may only add up to like 5% of a bosses life in a battle but sometimes thats a win or loss

Claic, this guide, the Gingerbread man guide, and the octo instructor guide are all 100% solid in my mind. I do agree that with the octo teacher there were a few equipment choice that you didn't think out all the way, like I don't think I can go back and get a survival edge for Earth Veritas any more, and a few other things like that, but it at least gives me a direction. I've been able to follow you pretty well through all of it. I think maybe, talking through or saying, "if you don't have this, some alternatives could be" type thing would be helpful adds, but man in the last couple of days you've put out some great videos with this back to basics stuff, and i am greatly appreciative and hope they keep coming.
Quick question, if you have an Orlandeau is he better than Agrias all the time with this team build? Or does something like having Agrias's upped frames making the chaining easier give her the edige? keeping in mind that you could argue her having more utility with her heals plus you already have a friend Orlandeau. I'd also be curious if in some of these you could take a Dark Veritas to chain with is that "better".

+Claic Yuzolt I was trying to just use the Survival Edge as an example, i went down and just picked another wind element weapon that i could pick on EV, so i used "Air Knife" can you get it from a key, I *THINK* the wind element to stopping chupron's sneeze was why you picked it. It seemed to work, was there a better choice? I dunno, maybe. Just trying to provide constructive criticism boss! Perhaps, slightly better would have been:
"I picked Survival Edge cause it has wind element and more HP for EV, really any wind element attach will work though, and if you don't have one stack on the HP best you can."
Either way man, you've got me through three trials that I probably wouldn't have done left to my own means. That's huge in my opinion. No one guide is ever gonna be perfect, that's just reality. I think this is awesome, mentioning some alternatives or what you're going for a bit more there would have been good maybe, but I just don't want you stop honestly. You're the only person I watch FFBE videos for, and I enjoy this game a lot more because of your content bro.

I honestly didn't think about it until you called out it on in this video but i guess i somewhat agree with the comment that "some of the equipment callouts for octo instructor could have been better", but I don't think they were like crazy off the wall or not explained at all either, I was able to make the adjustment and got through things just fine. Take it as a small, "this is what we'd like to see better" and grow rather than, "we hate you and you smell", yeah?

Dropping guides like bombs. I like this. And you’re using updated units for newer users. That’s already better than what most people are doing because the new users don’t know who to replace who with.
And working on perfecting some naked strats? Nobody should be able to complain after that. Keep doing that work man. I think everyone needs to realize there are clear advantages to TM farming... and to just do it. Get dual wield. Just get it. It’s a staple.

So I set my team up almost exactly, replacing Agrias with my own Orlandeau and kit him with a teeny bit of dragon killer. damage output early on was better, but slowed down (maybe because my chaining sucked) My Mystea was better equipped and survived some of those times you died on turns Bahamut didn't mega flare, so I was able to utilize her for other things. Overall this strategy was very helpful! Thanks my dude!

If anyone has the option, zargabaath using rejuvenate on someone with an aoe mp heal like tilith/ayaka (maybe rosa?) etc is an infinite mp loop. With two or 3 aoe toons this area can be farmed on repeat. (Technically zargabaath alone is infinite mp but it requires more management). Still some danger of preemptive attacks.

Awesome vid again Claic! A little sad you have to have all these "disclaimers" to ward off negative criticism... I 100% agree with you that a lot of this content is designed for players who've played for a few months at least, farmed up a TM or two, etc.
With your strategy the one thing I would change is to only have Mystea use her AoE cover on the turns Bahamut uses Megaflare. If you break his magic while using Rikku's Hyper Null All, the damage to your team will be minimal anyway. You can use those turns to maybe use Mystea's LB to mitigate damage to the team, etc. This way you won't risk her dying from taking the entire team's damage from magic attacks.
Again thanks for uploading this, as I'm sure many in the FFBE community will appreciate seeing how Bahamut is either within their reach or close to it.

Thanks bro, this video gave me the courage to try again. It was over in 4 turns. Rikku, Tilith, Mystea, Tidusx2 with random Tidus friend. I had enhanced Soleil on standby but it's hard to resist chaining 3 Tidus. Now where is your Holy Wand for Dummies video?? I've spent hours setting up some pretty heavily TMR'd units only to give up crying within minutes.

I agree the complaints about equipment & TMs is getting kinda tiresome. It doesn't matter what TMs or gear you have if you don't know the mechanics of the fight and the thresholds you gonna die regardless..
If you finished part one of the story it gives you a 100% trust moogle so everyone should have at least one TM. The game has given many moogles over the years as well. And all the fights that we have done doing the story & events people are bound to have other TMs.
All i'm saying is Claic wants to use a couple TMs like dual cast, dual wield or whatever let him.

I agree. The expeditions give you 5% moogle every week. That arena, and daily log ins could net you a TMR every 2 months.
And if people don't TMR farm it's on them.

It worked! Main thing is managing the aoe dispel the turn prior to megaflare and mystea 50% not blocking megaflare.
managed to bounce back with mega phenix one time from mystea's team killing for the win, (all units died from mega flare except rikku and Orlandu)

Hi Claic, not sure how much design input you have in the game, but what if there were "Challenger Difficulty Achievements" such as no 5 star bases for trials or use 5 or less Trust Master Rewards adding a pseudo-higher-level of difficulty to trials. This might engage veteran players in more critical thinking. It would also put some of the lesser used characters and event items/gear in the spotlight.

I also came up with this because I've been noticing a lot of my 1.5 year FFBE Friends drop out of the game completely because the game got stale so I'm just trying to think of ways for veteran players to reengage in the game.
For example I've already beat all the trial bosses and have no incentive to go back to those trials and beat them again. So now my game is just constantly on the TMR Macro grind... I'm about to drop out myself :(
New idea to tack on... Weekly or Monthly Challenger Level Achievements... for example Aigaion: No TMR 1/5 - 1/12... One 10% Trust Moogle.

This could also help the outdate trials such as Gilgamesh become a bit more relevant due to power creep!
It seems easy enough to implement and makes Gumi's hard work in previous trials worthwhile to veteran players again.

I cheesed the initial Megaflare using Setzer's curse card with Xon/rikku's pouch tactic. That could a really easy way to survive the preemptive attack

I use Rikku’s limit, Soleil’s Shooting Dance, attack with x2 Orlandeau, x1 Agrias, and still die on the first Mega Flare. All my units have 6000+ HP. Am I missing something?

Guess that's what happens when you stop playing for 8 months and then come back to the game. A side question for you if you have time for this: When using a macro for TM farming my game frequently crashes on NOX... is there a special way I should be positioning my FFBE app along with the bottom ribbon on Nox so when it crashes the macro re-opens the game when it crashes? Currently mine likes to click one of the random apps in the ribbon on Nox and its super annoying. Thanks man!

Ok so, not many talks, or atleast i can't find em, about differing bahamut builds and stat breakdowns. I came to the decision to go mag/spr/atk and primarily was going to use on my GL Sakura but, bahamut only gave 1 pt more of mag over Tetra sylph. Is that 1 pt worth or should I have built my bahamut for another unit? I ask because I was given the impression he's going on ur main units. But if your main units have Odin(atk main) and Tetra(mag main). Is odin a offdps main then? Making your offdps unit "Savage" in a sense? Yes, I'm aware of his other builds for support/tank builds but was primarily looking at atk or mag usage.

So I just came back to ffbe after a 6 month break... I don't have Mystea and got absolutely crushed... how do I survive megaflare without mystea, agria or orlandeau? I even made the stupid mistake previously of merging my Zyrus to give exp to marie (Who has actually been amazing). On the plus side, first pull back got White Lotus Fina... kinda want Pyro Glacial Lasswell, just cos I want to play the story with the actual characters... but not the crappy versions

The only problem is all the Magicite he takes to level, I managed to get him to lvl 29 before I ran out. Thanks anyway Claic.
