This is an incredibly dark, extremely beautiful quartet full of invention and depth. It is executed here perfectly. Mozart shows his extreme genius and something of his philosophical sense in each movement, all of which speak to one another. Abeo does more than justice to Mozart's insights. The names of the performers should be in the description, as they certainly deserve recognition and applause.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's String Quartet No. 15 in D minor, K. 421/417b is the second of the Quartets dedicated to Haydn and the only one of the set in a minor key. Though undated in the autograph, it is believed to have been completed in 1783, while his wife Constanze Mozart was in labour with her first child Raimund. Mozart and Haydn admired each other and that the two men quickly developed a deep friendship. Through the 1780s in Vienna, the two composers played together in impromptu quartets, with Haydn on violin and Mozart playing viola. Haydn was the master and founder of the string quartet genre. The incredible amount of musical output was unique and unrivaled by any of his contemporaries and later composers.- Google/Wikipedia
This is indeed an excellent performance. The spirit of this quatret and its tone unity is not so easy to grasp. This performance is ideal in that respect.
Very soft and gentle playing, beautiful harmony. Differs that way from the earlier intepretitions that I earlier have heard playing this composition that I like very much. Thank you very much! Greetings from 🇫🇮Finland!
Excellentissime !

Skillman Music Studio may be a great venue for a sound recording but sadly it is not a great venue for an audio-video performance. Watching this video, I can't help but envision this excellent quartet in a more beautiful setting than this hamster box.

Thank you for this explaination. I really do love Haydn and he was involved in the genious of Mozart and Beethoven.

Excellent et joué à la perfection. Bravo et merci vous êtes magnifiques à regarder jouer ❤
How nice to a hear (finally) a second fiddle who leads as much as (more than) she follows!
What a moronic comment.
Outstanding performance. I admire how the violins get a softer tone by using a string lower than neccecary.

Which mics did you use for this recording?
Hyper-romantic performance. Not sure I'm sold.
we are missing an Indian fella, probably his recording!
Little known fact Mozart invented gangsta rap music in 1776!!!
I'm watching the feet...
I would like to know who are the members of the Abeo quartet
Abeo Quartet.
Njioma Grevious, violin.
Rebecca Benjamin, violin.
James Kang, viola.
Brian Gadbow, cello.

I do like the intimate close quarters and the accompanying sound acoustics which remind me of concerts in Tiny Desk/NPR
Mozart has no descendants 😢
